Just so you know it's because they were using Gamespy servers for all this stuff and that is what's actually shutting down.

It isn't if you already own the game.

So if you're doing it just to get around network restrictions, it's fine.

Not sure if this is the case for current generation consoles but it certainly is for older ones.

tbh the legality of emulation for old consoles never made sense to me. Surely, with these games out of print and not available on say VIRTUAL CONSOLE or whatever, there shouldn't be an issue?

The word I would've used is DOPE ROMS not COOL ROMS.

Cops went through my computer when I had many ROMs and illegal copies of PC games. Nobody cared.
