As you've probably seen from time to time, FE randomly crashes complaining about Flash plugins. I've isolated the cause of this finally to the cbox. I don't know why since I wasn't aware it used flash of any kind.
I'll see if there's any information on their site as to why this might be.

Talking about that memory crash? Cant remember what it said exactly
I thought that was just a chrome issue.
But it might just be that I pretty much always have the site open

No, it's to do with cbox. I was worried it was to do with the new ads I have installed but apparently not. That's a relief. No other NDim sites do it besides EN (which has a cbox).
I've sent them a support message claiming that my site users are furious and are insisting I remove the cbox immediately. This always gets support teams in a flurry.

I installed the most recent update for flash and it hasn't been crashing for me anymore. This may be completely unrelated, so feel free to ingore me.
eta: I was getting the same warning on SI and only got them on Chrome.

I always have like 5-6 tabs open so I didn't think anything of it of being something on here but mine has been crashing quite a bit.

I use chrome and have been experiencing problems on another messageboard (non-NDIM) but don't think I've had one hit me here yet. Unless one happened while I had both places open in a tab and I just equated it with the other board crashing. They recently overhauled things to try to fix it and it only made it worse.

Mine constantly crashes. It's very annoying. Ever since FE started though it's increased quite a bit

well tbh the only time I recall a lot of crashes was yesterday, and I was on Pottermore at the same time so I wasn't sure which was the culprit.
I haven't noticed anything today.

Flash has always crashed from time to time for me (on Chrome). I haven't noticed it being any more frequent than normal since FE started

Hello Paul
Thank you for your email.
When Flash is available on the client's browser, Cbox uses it to implement real-time streaming (as part of the Live Chat feature enabled at http://cbox.ws/admin.php?settings) and also for audio. Most users will have the Flash plugin installed, but there should not be a problem for users who don't. Do you see the same crash behaviour at your Quick Link, http://seabocks.cbox.ws/? If not, there may be a bad interaction with some other Flash element on your page, such as an ad unit.
Should you need any further assistance please let me know. |

No. It's the cbox clashing with the ad.
But I'm not getting rid of the ads. Sorry!
