Anyone here seen this or plan to? I've been hearing lots of good stuff about it lately so I checked it out today. Ended up watching the whole season straight through (: . It's basically a mini-series that airs on Sundance. Elisabeth Moss and Faramir from LOTR star in it. There's just seven episodes and it's only intended for one season

It's about a pregnant 12 year old who goes missing. Very much like Broadchurch/The Killing and a bit like that other Sundance show The Returned. Anyone who liked any of those shows would probably like this

It was reallyyy good. Takes place in New Zealand so the landscape throughout the show is beautiful. Elisabeth Moss is so good in it. Probably better here than she is as Peggy because she has more to do here

GOOD SHOW. Very quick and on Netflix. It's worth watching for sure

I really enjoyed The Killing, and a lot of people told me to watch Top of the Lake because of it. It's at the top of the ever growing, long list of shows I need to watch. Hoping to get through a few once the holidays are over.

Pretty solid start. A lot of pretty strong characters already. The crazy ladies of Paradise are so weirdly funny. And Tui's dad is already a pretty great villain so far. The scene with Tui aiming the gun at him was one of the best I'm still kinda confused about some of of the relationships of the characters but I think that's kinda what they were going for? I feel like they showed a bunch of fragments in episode 1 and it'll be explained more fully later

lol, I started watching two nights ago too. I have 3 episodes left.

Yeah the setting is really similar to The Returned. Broadchurch is another gr8 show with a slightly similar setting too

I finished. Really enjoyed it. It was a bit different than I was expecting, which actually made me enjoy it more. That whole small town dynamic will always baffle me.

also I want to go to NZ asap.

Weird how they didn't even bring up her rape until this episode yet it already feels like such a driving force. Nearly the entire episode was devoted to it. I WANNA KNOW WHAT TUI'S BROTHER ISN'T TELLING HER!! And I finally get their relationship now. Though I can't recall what he was doing with Tui's mom. Was he there as a step-son or as a boyfriend? That ending actually made me jump. BE CAREFUL ROBIN!! I'm wondering if she stepped out on the road because she was actually feeling suicidal or her mind was just too aloof because of all the shit she's going through. I assume it's meant to be ambiguous

I remember Elisabeth Moss killing it that episode. The bar scene I think. She was so terrific

This show is what made me want her to be cast in True Detective season two

My memory is a little bit foggy, but I think she goes outside of the bar and starts screaming/crying afterwards. I was referring to that more than her bar takedown. She's consistently great throughout it all tbh
