So, I had a pretty ambitious mafia idea a few weeks ago that I'm thinking about doing, and I'm wondering what the interest levels are for mafia lately, how many active players i could expect, etc.

This idea is pretty experimental, and would probably be best played on another board anonymously, but if people aren't feeling that I could probably make it work on site. I think it'd be LESS FUN tho. I could probably also adapt the idea to be a little more standard, and I still might do that anyway if I decide the experiment wont work, but for now I am developing an idea


The soonest I could probably do is August, but thematically this would make the most sense in the Fall. HOWEVER, I have no idea how busy I will be in the fall since I'll be taking classes, so this could easily end up being a NEXT SUMMER thing. Would rather it be soon, but such is life

BUT! I would be nervous about our first game in awhile being off site and anon, activity wise. Usually takes another game first to get the juices flowing again for people. But we could always run one on site before yours

i think we missed the boat on having an anon game when mafia game activity was starting to drop off. im good with any version but i agree that an anon game would be best as the 2nd or 3rd game of a new set of games.

THUMBS UP FOR: Live Mafia - A single night this week (1-2 hours max). Probably open set up. Anyone who signs up would need to make the hour range that we pick. It would probably be like this Wednesday or Thursday night. Could do a second game after the first if they're like an hour. No expectations for anyone to show up for a second game after the first one ends

THUMBS DOWN FOR: Dethy/Mini Mafia - Still an open set up, all roles are known. 24 hour cycles like a regular game. Really the only difference from a regular game is it's less people, set up is open, probably flavorless and straightforward


Either option would be this week if there's interest. Each game would be ~8-12 players
