I guess we didn't have a thread for this?
just finished S2 which was p great. Maybe better than the first?
|
ep 6 was nuts. All those cameos could've easily felt like stunt casting but I think they all slotted in well, especially enjoyed Jamie Lee Curtis and John Mulaney. Also Britta! Between her showing up, Joel McHale in the first season, and Richie dropping a "streets ahead" in ep 9, definitely some Community fans running this show |

I’ve been halfway through s1 for a bit and keep forgetting to continue. I’m liking it

S1 was great! S2 is in the queue to watch soon. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

I love this show because it's great but also it gives me lowkey stress because sometimes it feels like I'm at work when I'm watching.

Also, oddly, this show is on Disney+ in Canada.
Not the most family friendly show, lmao.

I honestly was just kind of lukewarm on this season and then came Episode 6…
|
Maybe one of my favorite episodes of television ever, maybe it’s recency bias but there was just so much perfect chaos and great characters it was just *chef kiss*
My personal favorite moments were the chaos surrounding Richie and Mikey giving Camry a hard time about Claire. Jaime Lee Curtis in general was so good as Donna and all the timers just created so much anxiety.
My favorite moment though had to be when Pete showed up with the tuna casserole, so funny. Just spectacular writing, acting, the whole nine yards.

Man the entire second half of the season was incredible, Richie’s episode to follow up Episode 6 was great, and I really love what they did with his character.
The season finale was also really good for a show all about cooking it really kept me on the edge of my seat.

Marcus catching the guy smoking crack and wondering if he could fire them was pretty funny. |
Hoping for another season but we’ll see with the strike going on. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

I def think S2 was better than S1 (which was already amazing). "Forks" was my favorite episode. This show does character development so well. | "All this from a slice of gabagool?" |

Finally finished s1
|
I thought it was strong thoughout, like 8/10. But the very last shot of Bernthal smiling at Carm in the flashback was fucking perfect, it brought the entire season home and elevated it so much. Doesn't hurt that my favorite Radiohead song was playing, but boi did Bernthal do a lot with a little throughout the season. The money reveal, him leading Carm to the cans with his note, 'let it rip', so good. Will go down as a favorite final shot of a season for me I think
Excited for s2

s2's Fishes lived up to the hype. Good stuff
Otherwise I thought the first six eps before it were off to a slightly slow start tbh. But still solid

Really enjoyed 2x8, the fire suppression test ep. Especially the montages/music towards the end

S2 done
|
Big fan of the finale, I liked it a lot. Really loved the Pete/Donna scene, Jamie Lee Curtis crushed it ofc but I also really liked Pete throughout that. Been a fan of that actor since Netflix's Love, it was nice to see him handle a dramatic scene
Every scene worked so well, I feel like they didn't waste a second and brought a lot of storylines home. The missed calls from Marcus' mom's nurse :((

S3 was uh.....hit and miss. Not terrible but def a big step down from the first two seasons
The Tina flashback ep was really good though, definitely an unexpected highlight for me. Directed by Ayo too!

I was ready to give this season a pass despite being slow plot-wise but that ending was very annoying! This season really just had three plot threads (well, I guess four if you count Sugar having the baby)
1. Review / future of the restaurant
2. Will Syd leave
3. Will Carmy make up with Claire
and it somehow resolved...none of these. IN TEN EPISODES! Like c'mon. That "TO BE CONTINUED" felt like a slap in the face tbh, it's one thing to have a cliffhanger where you're wondering what'll happen NEXT after a season of twists and turns, but in this case you're just waiting to have the first plot development of the season
also, sidenote, the Faks are annoying af. I don't think I laughed at a single one of their scenes, thought about fast-forwarding a few times tho
also how many scenes do we need of Carmy and Richie where the dialogue entirely consists of
"fuck you"
"fuck you"
"fuck YOU"
"FUCK YOUUUU"
groundbreaking writing right there |
