holy shit

THE GREAT TIM FROM MELANCHOLIA IS THE CO-LEAD FROM MYSTERIOUS SKIN

My mind is blown

lol, I know. He looks so different. I remember watching the commentary for Mysterious Skin a couple months back and I believe Joseph Gordon Levitt said as soon as Brady Corbet got on the screen; 'He isn't this adorable in real life', I broke out laughing. Was naturally curious what else Brady Corbet had done as well as how he generally looks in real life. Was surprised to see he wasn't only in Melancholia, but also a handful of other films that I never pieced together that it was the same actor (Funny Games and Force Majeur being the only other 2 films I had seen him in).

Apparently he's also a director who leans to avant-garde and experimentally unsettling horror films. He only has 2 films; The Childhood of a Leader (indie Robert Pattinson and Liam Cunningham aka Davos) as well as Vox Lux (Natalie Portman and Jude Law) which is coming out later this year. Haven't seen his stuff yet, have um on my to-watch list though. He seems like an interesting guy as his career always leans to the more shocking artsy side of independent film (aka films like mother! and The Killing of a Sacred Deer to name some recent examples).

I should do a marathon of his movies soon as he seems like someone who puts great care and passion into his acting projects as well as directing projects.

you should join curt (:
