It was bound to be made sooner or later, so thought I'd make it real quick.
So there are a bunch of crackpot theories out there which I will not adress here, one laughable one being that Sansa is an ironborn... That shall be the only one mentioned. This thread should specifically be for the serious theories that people believe to be true.
Okay, so the one I definitley believe is R+L=J. Already from Ned Stark's chapters in AGoT this was hinted at. But it was pretty much locked as soon as Dany entered the Houseof the Undying in ACoK. She saw a baby be born Being Aegon Targaryen within a vision featuring Elia and Rhaegar, he then mentions something about that there must be another baby, as there are 3 heads on the dragon or something like that. Indicating Jon Snow being the third that is produced by the dragon; being Rhaegar. Jon also being the prince that was promised in the prophecies. Dany also saw a blue rose (?) in her visions within THoTU. Which is Lyanna's favorite flower. With all the attention of Rhaegar within the visions, as well as symboilsm to Lyanna, that stronly suggests that Jon Snow is Rhaegar and Lyanna's child. And that he is the prince that was promise... And the third head on the dragon. The other two being Aegon and Daenerys.
Another one that I thought was interesting (don't know if it can be true and it be a bit crackpottish -sorry for already going back on that statement that I sad above) but I believe the 'Bran will warg a Dragon theory'. There are many theories of that there is an Ice Dragon within the Wall itself, frozen within. And as soon as the horn blows, the dragon will be unleashed. That is when Bran will warg the dragon to create havoc throughout Westeros and possibly kill many big characters. When Bloodraven says in Bran's final chapter in A Dance with Dragons: 'You will not walk again, but you will fly'. I have a hard time believing that that statement would be said so significantly within Bran's chapter to turn out to only be a Raven who he flies... It must be a dragon. If it's the far-fetch'd wall dragon, the fabel'd stone dragons or Dany's exsisting dragons... Cannot be known at this point. But I do believe he will warg a dragon somehow, someday.
The next one I'm very certain of being true is that Arya will be assigned to kill someone in Westeros by the Faceless Men. Once she arrives in Westeros she quickly regains the knowledge of herself again and starts killing off the people still on her list. Another theory being Littlefinger hires Arya to kill Sansa, after Sansa screws Littlefinger over. Although that would go against the FM saying that you may not kill anyone that you personally know. But does Arya really know anyone when she is noone? (yeah I love that statement, made it by myself. *looks proudly to the camera*.)
Another theory I very much believe to be true (only going off of Fore-shadowing) is: Daenerys actually grew up in Dorne, not in Braavos: In the first book, Viserys talks about them growing up in Braavos. And Dany constantly has dreams regarding a Red Door (which was also seen in her visions within the House of the Undying). She mentions somewhere in the books something about a lemon tree growing close to the Red Door. If you haven't noticed with the descriptions of Braavos, it's practically impossible for a lemon tree to be grown there. And also noticeable is during Aero's first chapter (also Dorne's first ever PoV chapter) the first sentance mentioned growth of a lemon tree. I'm convinced at this point that Doran knows WAY more than he lets on. And that he was the one who looked over them whilst there.
My final theory for now is that when Danerys finally arrives in Westeros, she will do so by arriving in Oldtown (Dorne and the Vale also being a possibility). But if you think about it, Oldtown has such a bitter history regarding Dragon's, and the Citadel was practically thenreason why the Mad King's Dragons were killed. Also the amount of hidden knowledge that are hiding within the Citadel regarding Dragons and the Others, it can only be fitting that Dany arrives in Oldtown after the war against the Ironborn, and that the she meets Sam (who has been constantly naming Daenerys within his chapters). And tells her the info. And espicially now that Marwyn is heading to Merreen to tell Daenerys about her prophecy. She may go back with him (but keep in mind that Marwyn was the teacher of Mirri Maz Duur when she was still a student, that may not sit well with Dany. So Marwyn may be toast straight away).
I'd also like to go into a particular prophecy as well. The one Quaithe mentioned in A Clash of Kings, mentioning that to go west, you must go east and to step forward you must step back. And something about travelling under the shadow. Which is major fore-shadowing moment regarding Asshai. So she may go there first?
What are your guys' thoughts.
And please, let's discuss!!

Interesting. I always thought it may be Arianne considering Arianne is personally associated with Myrcella. But Dany would be more logical.

Crackpot theory (had to do this one): Sansa chockes on a lemon cake and dies. Why else would she mention it so much within her chapters?

But you have to keep the big green field that Dany runs through bare-foot towards the red door in mind aa well. The only place I can imagine it may be in Braavos is the backside of the big ass sealord palace. But Dany remembers it more as like a private place.

Cersei's vision of a queen taking her place, she assumes it's Margaery, but it has to be Dany. |
I've always felt that it would be Sansa. I know that we have been told that the plan is to marry her to Harry the Heir, but I could see her being married off to Aegon by Littlefinger in an effort to increase his influence. if this happens, I think the natural progression of the story would be for Sansa to realize that she knows enough about the world of politics for her to no longer have a use for him (especially if she pieces together his role in Ned's death). It would be a fitting part of Sansa's story to fall in love and get married to her original vision of a gallant husband, only to have him taken away by Greyscale. |
Oeh Sansa. That would be my most ideal scenario. I always tell people thatI think Sansa may sit on the Throne at the end, and all they do is laugh and say its obvs gonna be Dany. -.- (yeah, they're show-watchers only) uneducated fools. (-: | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

But at the same time I'm 80% certain that Aegon will be married to Arianne Martell after he takes over King's Landing. Arianne would have to die (which I don't see happening) for Aegon to marry Sansa. | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

Yeah the fact that Aegon was introduced so late is indeed pretty lane. And makes me refuse to think he'll be a serious contender. | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'
