Wanted to watch the whole episode uninterrupted and without distractions but I'm here now with my comments.

#1 - it was exciting to see them all standing on the beach at the beginning and toasting Survivor

#2 - I'm glad we got to see both tribes go to tribal council because it let us see a bit more of where people's loyalties are, at least for now.

#3 - it's interesting how even though everyone is there as a former winner, and can be seen as a threat, still some are able to better blend in and fly below the radar.

#4 - It's was also cool to see the old school players having to react to the changes in the pace of the game, etc.

#5 - these people came to play!

#6 - The tokens are a cool mechanic and I kind of like that it's something different, though I'd probably not like to see it every season.

#7 - I knew Rob and Amber would be the biggest threats and I'd have preferred to see Rob go first because he's already played a million times, but having Amber leave before him is even better, because Rob's going to be so fired up now.

oh, at the first tribal council, I liked how Adam said that he and Denise had met for the first time yesterday and that others were worried about that relationship over other ones, including the married couple lol

And then Rob had to say that they're all threats, etc blah blah. If I were Adam in that moment, I'd have replied with "yes, and some bigger threats than others". :P

Also at that TC, Parvati kinda couldn't resist letting on that maybe some people were feeling too comfortable. Ben and Jeremy picked up on it.

Pregame targets dominated the premiere

everyone was looking for any reason to write a name down.

pretty solid premiere.

i wonder how much thought went into killing natalie first because her twin got voted out first and it'd make for a nice sound byte for the producers. yeah that sorta meta gaming has got to be going on

yul was the STAR of that episode for me by a mile. really digging the 4-alliance of him soph nick and wendell

SUPER happy kim stayed. i felt so bad for her being ghosted by everyone

ben fucking sucked and i dont understand why ppl didnt seem to be more upset with him running his mouth to everyone about everything. he needs to fucking die soon.

enjoyed tony's restraint in going cuckoo this early. i dont have high hopes for him because his style of gamplay just cannot work once ppl know what hes about but the dude is hilarious and TV gold so every episode we get of him is a bonus

I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed seeing Yul here. I've watched Cook Islands a number of times, and initially I wasn't a fan of his, but upon rewatches I came to admire the game he played. And he seems to just be really, really nice. I wonder if that's going to be his downfall this season. I'm also kind of hoping for some Parvati/Yul Cook Islands reunion/interaction at some point.

That was so much fun, kind of reminiscent of the HvV premiere, just wild seeing some of the interaction combos. I was kind of hoping they'd swap into 3 tribes next episode going in but the dynamics of the tribes are actually really interesting. There's no way Tony/Sandra/Rob/Parvati can slide by much longer on either side, but I wanna see them try. Fire Tokens weren't that bad, edit felt balanced, I'm optimistic

Big concern all the big names go early like game changers.

but even if that is the case, we're honestly still left with a bunch of superstar players.

As the winner of the very first season, it would have been awesome to have Hatch as part of this season. I don't think he'd have been able to keep up though.

Something I realized while watching the show last night, and I'm sure eveyrone else has already thought about it, but at the end of this season, there's going to be a second two-time winner or the first three-time winner.

Colby is a winner in my mind because he was on an episode of Curb.

and an episode of Bones as well I believe.

Colby lost when he brought Tina to the end. Loyal to a fault.

To each their own, I’m not a fan. Rob is one of my least favorite players and he’s getting a LOT of attention from production, so over him.

it also took him 4 tries to actually win.

is there a reason for the Rob dislike besides overexposure? Genuinely curious, he's always been such a likable guy to me

I didn't like him the first two times he played.
I didn't like him in the season he won because by that time, he'd been playing too many times.
Now, I don't mind him THAT much.
