Could it still scare children? Sure. But as soon as they realize dinosaurs became extinct millions and millions of years ago, there's nothing to be afraid of. :P

I mean, it's more of a cautionary tale of what could happen if someone messed with dino genes/DNA/whatever (I'm not a scientist lol). But dinosaurs once existed. They don't now. So it's not really scary. Nobody's going to fear getting torn apart by a velociraptor after watching that movie. :P

Aliens are another story. So are murderers, even unkillable ones. lol But those examples you mentioned are horror because they try to frighten/shock people.
But those are people killing other people. So it could be real, even if it's not possible in the exact way the movie depicts it.
