I haven't played season 3 yet...

I just started this game. It's already so much better than A New Frontier. It has a similar feel to the very first season. I love that they used the same music during the menu/pause screen.

I guess I also like that they seem to change the controls a little bit each with each game. Makes it feel like its own thing.

And the

tbh you could probably skip S3 entirely and it wouldn't matter that much

but I kind of liked the detour, and now just knowing that other community and friends are still out there, is nice, even though I don't expect to see any of them.

I'm still in episode 1, but this game feels like a movie. I liked the scene of

Clem and AJ getting ready to go to sleep their first night in the school, and him wanting to sleep under the bed and how he was glad they didn't have to sleep in the car anymore. Meeting all the kids in the yard, even though the choices to get them to like AJ were pretty obvious, it was nice to see them warm up to him individually.

I'm probably going to take my time with it too, since it's the final season. lol

AJ sleep under the bed meant he'd end up shooting Marlon dead? :P I don't know if Marlon always dies or not, I didn't read any of the other spoiler posts in this thread yet. It was all too nice at the school for this episode to not end in bloodshed and two people dying lol

Killed the walker couple to get the key. Keeping AJ as safe as possible seemed more important than respecting the dead couple's wishes. Sorry. Went hunting with Louis and Aasim instead of fishing with Brody and Violet. I wanted to go fishing BUT I went hunting because I wasn't sure how much help Louis would be. I was kind of right lol Though we still getting catch enough food. Pushing that wannabe thief into the walkers, he wasn't getting away with the food that WE worked hard to get Chose to appeal to Violet over Louis.

Episode Two

Things seemed to be going so well.

Violet, Omar, and Aasim were kidnapped by Lily's group! Mitch was dead! His death was brutal. Knifed in the neck by Lily and then stabbed in the head! But we've got Abel, that bastard seems to have nine lives, after surviving being pushed into walkers, a fall off the balcony/broken leg and a dog bite. Thanks for the save Rosie. I had to save Louis or Violet, I knew that choice would be coming sooner or later. I just thought Louis would need more help than Violet would. I hope she won't be too mad. We were becoming close friends after stargazing together. lol I love when AJ swears. James, the Whisperer, is cool and I'd love for Clem and him to get together lol. But I fear that the other community that he mentioned the Raiders fighting with are the Whisperers. So I'm not looking forward to what happens there.

I also love that everyone else played this game years ago and I can go back and immediately read everyone's choices when I finish an episode.

I know I have only two episodes left and I'm very nervous to start the next one, but I'm about to. :P

Biggest decision regret ever so far at the end of episode 3:

AJ blow Lily's brains out. I assumed she would let us go and we'd still take care of the raiders with the bomb. As soon as I saw James turn his back towards Lily to take the gun from AJ, I knew what was coming...I just didn't want AJ to keep killing people, even if Lily is a "monster". But every single part of me wanted to let him do it. Even if she might not had died. I have to read what would have happened if I made the other choice. Grrrr.

I finished the final season.

What a fun ride to play all 4 back to back to back to back. lol

And what a brilliant, amazing, incredible actor that AJ CGI is. So much emotion in those eyes, every single time. :P

Two regrets:

Not letting AJ shoot Lily on the boat. It would have been super satisfying but I didn't want him to develop a taste for it. Then she floated away on a raft while I shot arrows at her and missed worse each time.

No romance for Clem. I chose to stargaze with Violet instead of helping Louis tune the piano because that seemed like a dumb waste of time. But I only wanted to be friends with Vi. And once James showed me a picture of his dead boyfriend, I knew that option was out the window too. But then he died anyway. I was hoping that I'd get another chance with Louis later on, but it didn't come. So I'll just imagine that in the future they get together in the house they're going to build with the giant statue of Clem in it.

I loved the way they did the end credits, it was really really cool. I actually took the time to look at them.

I thought the whole last episode we'd get to play as AJ, but I liked how they split it. I also liked Clem having the option to let AJ decide for himself with some of the choices. That was nice. He's the reason she survived after she got bit. I was curious why Clem never brought up the option of chopping her leg off in the first place since they add Minnie's axe already. And I guess if AJ didn't shoot Tenn on the bridge, Louis would have died? It would have been sad to see either of them go. Oh, and apparently me and only 2% of the players left Louis feeling humbled. I wonder if that's because he winded up dead for a bunch of players.

I completely missed 400 Days. I didn't see it in my game. Apparently, it's season 1 episode 6. I only noticed because I didn't have the achievement for that episode. I had to google it to realize I had to find it in the season 1 menu. :P

400 Days is nothing amazing but prob still worth playing tbh, most of the characters don't really factor in later so not much will have been spoiled

yeah, that's what I've read. But the unobtained achievement for something as simple as completing the episode bothered me. So I will have to play it. lol

I rode along while my friend played this for the first time earlier this year and I'd be hard-pressed not to say it's my favorite game of all-time after experiencing it all again (even if not firsthand) HOT TAKE but I think S4 may be on par with S1

I don't necessarily disagree. Season 4 had a very similar feel to season 1. And there were a lot of callbacks. I think I prefered the story in season 4 as it felt more cohesive. Though season 1 felt more like the comic book/earlier seasons of the tv series. But as I've seen mentioned here, the mechanics for fighting a group of walkers was more annoying in season 4. I know I died a bunch of times while trying to clear them in every instance.
Season 2 was also so great though. :P The New Frontier is easily forgettable.

it feels weird to go back and play 400 Days having gone through all the other seasons first. But it's kind of cool. Bonnie's there. I recognize her from season 2. I hated her. lol
