I knew going in that there were 3 seasons obviously. But after finishing the first just now, I wondered where the story would go. I figured they'd continue with the

And yes, Olivia Colman and David Tennant are superb.

How do you know it was silly if you didn't watch, though? Season 1 was the best but the other two seasons were also good.

David Tennant and Olivia Colman are both soooo good in this series.

lol I don’t need to watch to think that continuing past s1 seemed silly, I didn’t say the seasons WERE silly. I thought the first season was a perfect open and shut case/season and there was no reason to push the story further

but what if you stopped watching The Leftovers after the first season? :P That's as far as the book went.

fair enough.
I haven't seen any of season 2 yet, so I can't say much :P
But I will watch it, after a bit of a break.

The break is over. I started series 2 tonight. It's interesting. You get to see the aftermath of the first season, so it doesn't feel completely unnecessary and there are some new plotlines as well. The acting is so great.

I'm halfway through the second series. Because it's a British programme, I'm using "series" instead of season. :P

I do look forward to watching it because the actors are so great in it, but the story itself is feeling kind of soap opera-ish, it's all very dramatic. It doesn't seem to be moving as fast as the first series, but I still love it. I'm invested in the characters and their lives now.

Apparently this show was a big deal when it was airing.

I just finished series 2.

Overall it wasn't as good as series 1. I feel like they tried too hard to make it dramatic. I wasn't a fan of the end of the second last episode. That type of cliffhanger is annoying. :P Very soap opera-ish like I mentioned earlier.

But I still love it. It's good enough tv. The acting is really what makes it. I've seen Olivia Colman in a couple of things and she's always amazing.

I am now more curious to see where they go in the third series because there was a lot of closure in the second. But there is a thread that was started that I could see continued into the third, even though I'm not a fan of that character.

started series 3. It feels like a fresh start but with some familiar faces.
The storyline is much different than the first but focuses mostly on Hardy and Miller so far. I also love that Julie Hesmondhalgh is in it!

I do love the characters, but I'm kind of over all the misleads and red herrings by this point. I'm only 3 episodes in, but I hope to be genuinely surprised by the end of it.

It pulled me back in and I've now finished the entire series. Overall it was quite good. The acting, top-notch. Yes, it could have ended after the first series, but I'm glad it continued and I'm glad I watched all of it. Getting to know the characters of Broadchurch was nice and seeing them go about their lives after the initial case was cool. I'm sad that that's it. No more Hardy and Miller team-ups.
