I'm kinda shocked tbh, I didn't think there was any way this gets cancelled when it was supposed to one of the big flagships for HBO Max. I think the only surviving spin-off pilot now is the uh...much-awaited Targaryen origin story
Encouraging to see that HBO still seems to be valuing quality over churning things out just because it has a successful brand name. TAKE NOTE DISNEY |
TBH I read the Fire and Blood Targaryen dynasty book and some of the stories are better than the actual GoT stories so this could be really good if done right.
That being said no way they have budget for so many dragons.

BTW this series is in full production. Hope to see lots of dragon fights as it should have that in later seasons.

Yeah the Targaryen show is based on the Dance of dragons civil war which pits a daughter against her half brother and all the Houses rally to either side. Lots of backstabbings, usual GoT political intrigue, big battles and numerous of dragon fights take place. It's probably my favourite Targaryen dynasty moment.

GRRM recently signed a massive deal with HBO so I'm sure there's gonna be at least a few more shows coming out. idk tho I'm not pessimistic about it, I love the ASOIAF universe and the show was great while it still had book material to follow, which these shows should also be doing (although following the "history" books will be a lot more flexible than following the actual detailed ASOIAF narrative I guess). So I think there's POTENTIAL at least. And the Olivia Cooke casting instantly makes me wanna watch |
I have more faith in the Targaryen Civil war for that reason. The story is fleshed out, both in THe World of Ice and Fire and in a short story form so I expect this to be an epic scale. People are just fed up of GoT because the last few seasons were shit. But if HBO can stay consistent all the way through, this civil war can be spectacular.

Hopefully this will be good.
Seems like the guy from Doctor Who abd The Crown has a leading role in this? Hopefully we get to see some sympathetic Targaryens in this lol. |
I read the story so I'm not sure if I should say this but I'll put these in spoiler tags nonetheless.

He's probably the most arrogant one of them all. None of them have redeeming qualities.
Also, they are Targaryen, so if this is true to the source material, then there's incest literally everywhere.
It could be like GoT 1-3, but on steroids and lots of dragons. |

If it stays true to the story, it will be good! So far, I like where this is going.
