Just came back from Mexico.
Was in Tuxtla for 3 days, capital of Chiapas State which borders Guatemala.
Visited San Cristobal where I saw the the Mayan/Catholic church. I saw someone sacrifice a chicken.
Went to Mexico City afterwards for 5 days and toured the city. From there went to the Teotihuacan pyramids.
Last, went to Cuernavaca and Taxco, a silver mining city up in the mountains. Pretty amazing stuff.
Mexico City is insanely crowded. I thought NY was busy, but this is a whole different level. 9 million in the city and 22 million in the greater city area.

Last September I did my first solo trip to London, UK. First time out of North America. I stayed for a week, saw the Man United/Arsenal game, hung out with the Arsenal fans after, did some of the traditional London sightseeing stuff. I did the Wembley Stadium tour, visited some family and friends who lived there, did Stonehenge, and Bath trip, saw Abbey Road and saw some other sights.
This year, I'm going solo again to Europe, going to Berlin, Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, Vienna, Prague and back to Germany (Frankfurt). This will be a 2 week vacation in May.
Later in the year I'm traveling to Chicago to watch the Jays take on the Cubbies and hang out for the weekend.

if you have time, definitely would recommend a day trip to Heidelberg when you're in Frankfurt (it's about 90 min away by train). Frankfurt has some cool stuff too but is much heavier on the modern city side than the historical side |
I have a day and half in Frankfurt so I may not be able to do this. This is good to know and I will add it to my list if possible.

I've come a long way from smoking some buko at a cabin and expanding my horizons!

As mentioned above, I'll be in Chicago next weekend. IS there anyone that lives in this area? I'll be free Saturday evening and a bit of Friday evening as well.

Update: Went to Chicago, it was great! I saw 3 Jays/Cubs games, went up the Sears tower, had some Chicago pizza, saw the Bean and did a boat tour. DNC was just around the corner and my hotel was a hub for it so lots of activity.
I was also on our TV during our national sports broadcast of the Jays/Cubs 3rd game.
Next up: Central Europe in a months time.

Lou's Malnati's. I think it's a chain. Didn't have time to find a local cuisine.

it's a chain now (there's a few up in Milwaukee now too) but the OG Chicago location is easily the best, love Lou's |
Oh they are expanding then. I was at the one on Michigan Ave, near the pier. Not sure if that was the first.

Anyone been to SCOTLAND? Going sometime next year |
I plan to in the next few years or so, but next will most certainly be a LOTR tour of New Zealand.

I've been waiting to do this for a long time and I think I'll get to in 2026! That will most likely be my next big adventure after Europe this year.
