Discuss book or TV show, hopefully book talk has spoilers around them!

Got the game today too. Anyone played that? |
Nope, the guy at GameStop told me to wait for the price drop, said it was getting bad reviews.
|
It will decline in a few months due to horrible reviews. TV show games never ever end up being good, I'm not even going to bother play it.

Yeah I found it odd that he'd reunite her with the dragons but I can see the writers backed themselves into a corner with her story. |

lol really? Arya that low? She's probably my favorite character with Tyrion and Ned closely behind. |
Although she definitely gets more interesting in S2. |
Also I couldn't stand Sansa at first either but she gets more and more tolerable as the series goes on. |
|
Arya's story in the show is downsized compared to her story in the book. Where I am in book 2, so much more happens to her and she has a far more brutal path ahead of her that wasn't shown in the show. I'm loving her story the most in book 2, but the show didn't capture it's greatness as in the book, it is still fairly awesome in the show though. |

For those who have read the book I just finished Arya's capture where Lommy kept yielding like an idiot to the Lannister men, then got killed. |

I've heard so much hype about that book. |
I'm really tempted to read it but I feel like the surprises are better when you're watching them rather than reading them so I'd rather wait until I've watched the episodes. But apparently there's an event called the that is fucking crazy and makes Ned's death look blase in comparison. I've avoided getting it spoiled to this point but I've read SO much about it it's got me insanely curious. |
My main guess would be that Robb gets killed when he goes to marry that medic. But I've heard it has to do with Joffrey/Sansa's wedding, so I really have no idea. |

Yeah i've heard about the "red wedding" and many weddings people talk about during the show. Sometimes on IGN trolls discuss GoT on articles that have nothing to do with GoT but certain characters in the show and they start spoiling shit so I've almost read stuff, I think I'll wait before reading season 3 since book 1 Ned's death wasn't as shocking in the book as on TV. In fact, book two only referenced the splurging of Robert's bastards. |

I actually didn't like Blackwater as much as seemingly everyone else did. Mostly I had a problem with the scale. It felt too small with pretty much everything taking place on that one little beach. Instead of 10000s vs 10000s it felt more like 100s vs 100s. I realize this is completely due to having a TV budget but that still doesn't change my opinion! I actually enjoyed the scenes |
inside the "safe room" with the women more than the battle itself |
|
|
Yeah obviously the budget kept it from looking Helm's Deep like but that's TV budget for you. In some cases its better to show the smaller battles than to make a big battle feel smaller than it really is.
I truly love the Reins of Castamere song sung by The Hound at the end. It was just so fitting and I read about it's meaning in the book and it feels even cooler that it was added in this episode.

My friends Game of Thrones exhibition touring the world. Toronto, New York, Sao Paolo, Belfast and Amsterdam. I am fortunately a subway ride away from this exhibition and will be attending on March the 15th, I shall take lots of pictures and sit upon the Iron Throne itself.

For those close to the NY area there's one there! Pretty excited!

Are the books the same as the show or is it different?
I watch another show based on a book (Which I won't name) and it is a lot different supposedly than the book. |
I know of which show you talk about. :P
