The bed pan is sitting in our basement right now, and The story is... unknown! Grandma has no idea where it came from. I did some digging on the patent, and it's probably from 1905 based on the number. In that case, grandma said it may have "come with the house" which was built that same year.
Weirdly, though, the first number on the patent is actually smudged on the pan itself. I found someone selling an identical bed pan and apparently its a 6... but that patent number is for some kind of vent, not for the bed pan! So it seems like the Meinecke "Perfection" might have been lying about being patented... what else was this bed pan hiding???

And the unidentified toy thing was... a toy thing. I have no idea what it is. It was a hand-me-down to me, and I played on it all the time when I was little. It only lost the front wheel a few months ago, when grandma insisted i drag that thing out of the basement for my cousin's baby to play with. (They wouldnt let him near it)
Thats all the backstory i have for the thing itself... but when I went in the basement to take pictures of it for this, I had a horrible experience! Where I went to grab it, rightt next to my hand was a spider dangling right there, and I instinctually threw the toy away from me. Which is weird because I usually like spiders! BUT THEN I SAW IT: it was a victim of a fungal infection. It was PUFFY like cotton, and I assumed it was dead since it was still just hanging by the web from the toy, but when I went to get a closer look, it started flailing like it wasn't in full control of its own body anymore. It was AWFUL
here's a picture of that:
you can also technically see it in the original picture if you know to look for it
it gave me a nightmare that night |
you could have become Spider Gwyn. |
