A multitude of male celebrities and public figures on major newspapers and news stations has been outed here. It's the unraveling.

I'm kinda surprised how vast this is, makes you wonder really.

A few male public figures did go out and were skeptical. It didn't go over well with the public.

Conspiracy of silence is what allows these shits to get away with it.

I don't get it, sexual abuse seems to be an inside joke with a lot of the people in the know, and none of them name names. Nobody comes forward.

No doubt because they fear their power, but srsly. What would stop a bunch of high profile celebrities who knew someone was dodgy all banding together to call them out?

don't get it.

Maybe they have more to gain from it by keeping quiet? I dunno.

Maybe it's like an I-scratch-your-back-you-scratch-mine thing going on, they have something to hide.

Honestly, I'd say the biggest factors are:

They get favors from them, a bump in the paycheck if they're an employee or if they're a friend maybe they develop a blind spot, or perhaps they have something to hide?

It also seems to be part of the norm for many women, so they just seem to shrug some of it off.

Wouldn't there be backlash if someone made false accusations? Isn't this why people normally don't always come out when things happen to them for fear that people won't believe them?

You could be right, I'm just saying.

Go to a supervisor first, if they sweep it under the rug, then go to the cops. If you can't prove to the cops it happened, then at least you can you can tell your story in some shape or form or help others who find themselves in similar situations.

There is something oddly appropriate happening in the UK right now which perfectly illustrates how ridiculous these things can become when presumption of innocence is sidestepped and given over to mob rule.

Tonight, the Defense Secretary resigned amid allegations that he placed a hand on a female journalists knee, 15 years ago. And the Deputy PM stands accused of the same thing, on top of sending a lurid text message (Oh the horror!). The latter accusation came from someone using the #MeToo hashtag.

It's happening everywhere, you know. It's the unraveling lol.

Every week there are new people in powerful positions who are being outed for these kinds of things, or things significantly worse. It's usually old stuff, see it as a stand against the "patriarchy", for a lack of a better word.

I'm sure most of you would at least accept the possibility that some accusers will lie. Which leads me to ask; do you think it is an acceptable trade off that some people could have their lives ruined by false accusations if some genuine offenders are brought to justice?

In short, no. I don't want to get falsely accused of rape. Make it easier for women to report rape to the authorities, but don't throw innocement men into the same basket as the guilty pls.

As far as the teach men not to rape argument goes, I think it's ineffective. I mean, you could teach sexual morality from an early age and replace a bunch of parents I suppose, then the problem will be solved in a few generations when we're all dead. People that already rape or sexually offend others are probably not gonna listen to those kinds of opinions anyway.

I hear they all shower together naked, likely a few cases of accidental rape now and then.

Touching someone's knee without asking for permission first can't be rape, can it?

Wouldn't it be at worst sexual misconduct if it's persistent and he's like really touchy feely against her will.

I think outing the people who are doing this kind of stuff on a regular basis is a good thing because it helps us know who we're dealing with, it's almost impossible to fight against a problem you can't see.

Doesn't surprise me tbh.

I remember listening to a piece he did, which is interesting now with all this in mind, let's see if I can find it.
