I was expecting some epic white walker shit but I was left cold. Pun intended.
But I realized that the show will be in the last few episodes by the time real white walker stuff happens since that is the final battle I'm assuming.
The leaps in logic were jarring enough to take me out of the show for a minute but with the musical score, the directing, and the Kings Landing stuff it still made for a great episode. This show is dark but Tommen killing himself really fucked with me for a minute. Just the entire wiping out of that city basically is crazy.
Also while I am sad Marg is dead since she was awesome and seemed to have some sort of plan to overthrow Cercsi, her NOT escaping in a cliche' fashion made for a bit of a shock.
My biggest disjointed type question is that Arya was able to be a FM while not being in the FM? It seems like they had a plan or a "rule book" for the FM but then said fuck it and they do whatever. I guess it fits into the fan service part of how much fan service this episode provided.
I knew about R+L= J so the impact wasn't shocking or grand but I guess still nice to finally see it play out on screen. I can't wait until Bran (hopefully) starts interacting with some major characters.
Also what is Varys angle? Isn't it explained better in the books that he is basically anti Lannister and has been playing the long con? Will he harm Tyrion or are they actually close?
And is there somehow anything major in the books that still hasn't appeared on screen besides LSH?
