FTL (Faster Than Light) is a daily deal for $3.99 today. i love this game and highly recommend getting it. they also released a free expansion to it recently (which the game comes with if you buy it now) so if you've played it before and haven't tried the advanced edition, you should!

you control the crew of a spaceship who is trying to make it through a bunch of sectors in order to warn your commander about an incoming attack of rebels. it's really hard to win, but really really fun. there's like 5 or 6 different species you can have on board (each with their own strengths/weaknesses) and lotttttts of different events can happen to you.

it's my #2 most played game on steam, and possibly my favorite.

you should buy it.

just don't hate me when you accidentally suffocate your entire crew by opening the airlocks.

is that an actual game or is it like dear esther where you just walk around and listen to the narration?

i got stuck on a windmill level back when i got it : (.

i should try it again.

how do you guys feel about all of these "early access" games? i'm kinda conflicted between understanding the purpose of it and being annoyed by the sheer volume of games that are like this.

winter sale is in less than a month, that's what i'm waiting for!

Guys does anyone have issues hosting or connecting to a server for the Tabletop Simulator? I've been trying both sides (creating and joining) and it doesn't work ... >_>

I've never hosted one but I join my friends servers just fine...

FTL is on sale for 2.49 right now and i will never stop recommending people get it. it's so fun. really hard, but so fun.

faster than light

basically you have to get a space ship through a bunch of locations in order to warn your fleet about an impending attack from your enemy. if you manage to get there, you then have to defeat the flagship of said enemy.

along the way you'll have to fight a bunch of ships, you'll encounter vendors, answer distress calls, etc.

they also came out recently with the "advanced edition" which is a free update that adds a bunch of shit.

the game only takes like an hour or two to complete, if you manage to complete it. you can't save and reload, though. you can only save in order to quit (and resume later).

it's so good.

different races (for your crew) have different pros and cons, there's a bunch of different weapons and systems that make it so you can approach combat in different and cool ways (like you can disable their systems, or teleport your dudes onto their ship and try to kill them from the inside out, set their rooms on fire, etc). you also unlock more ships which have their own special shit.

ughhh its so good i'm about to go play it now.
