Never understood the obsession with rap. I don't hate the entire genre as a whole, and it has produced some classics. I love Grandmaster Flash, and To Pimp a Butterfly was a pretty good listen.

But it's something I by and large don't enjoy. Harmony and melody are something I value highly in the music I listen to, something which rap almost entirely does away with. I do agree it peaked in terms of originality long ago, but it's influence is still massive and ongoing, there's no denying that, whatever you happen to think of it.
