Welcome to the club! Idk Jeff Beck so curious to hear the song. |
His music is almost entirely instrumental, and his guitar style is totally unique. One of my fav players of all time

When Wikey nominated that Faces/ Rod Stewart song I kinda felt the same way. It’s a classic and proven to be a popular song. |
This surprises me because I didn't think any of you would have heard that song. I don't think The Faces are a well known band outside of the UK.
The only one of my submissions that I thought most of you would know was Motorcycle Emptiness. I almost didn't suggest it for that reason!
Some might say that Renee was a really well known song to suggest in Playlist 3, but I'd never heard it before.
And Ahoda's addition to the latest playlist seems like a very obvious pick from my perspective. Nights in White Satin is a very well known song, but I'd wager there is at least a few of you who haven't heard it before, so it was worth suggesting.
I agree with not overthinking this.
That said, if we're going to do themed playlists at some point, maybe we should consider one in which we all post the most obscure song we can think of.

1. Ahoda - Gladys Knight & The Pips "Midnight Train to Georgia" - haha I know of this song but I'd never listened to it. Pretty good I guess. A SUPERSTAR BUT HE DIDN GET FAR
2. Merc - Molchat Doma "Tancevat" - Wow, the lyrics to this really got me. Especially the line "Я не умею танцевать". Powerful stuff. I actually liked this. It sounds like it belongs on a soundtrack of the collapse of the Soviet Union.
3. Mittens - Atmosphere "Yesterday" - Nice groove and lyrics.
4. Lamps - Michael Prins "Close to You" - Thought it was Where is My Mind by The Pixies at the beginning. This kind of singing...ugh i dunno, I just can't stand it. Another sad montage song like that Roo Panes guy. To each their own!
5. Maddie - Interpol "The Rover” - Both the name of the band and the song gave me high hopes. Then the song started.
6. Christian - Gowan "Cosmetics" - Ha, tacky as fuck, but a pretty fun listen.
7. Havo - Meatloaf “You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth” - oo nah, didn't like this. Only recognised it halfway through the song. Meatloaf are too cheesy for me I'm afraid. However I must say that I do like the song Bat Out Of Hell for nostalgic reasons. My dad put that on a lot when me and Lucy were kids.
8. Boc - Richie Cunning "Pure Imagination" - nope. Interesting of them to sample Disney, but other than that, nothing.
9. Wikey - Jeff Beck "Where Were You" - Nice track by one of the greatest electric guitarists of all time. Fucking hard to play too.
10. Spin - Zebrahead "What's Goin' On" - Don't like their disgusting American accents. The song is pretty good, though it sounds like it belongs on an American Pie soundtrack.
11. Sock - Fitz and the Tantrums "Roll up" - Ohh no. I knew within one second I was going to hate this. Had to skip this
12. Josh - EMAN8 ft. Forrest. "Grateful" - don't like the singing...I guess that's what you'd call it. Had to skip this too!
13. Curtis - Mikhael Paskalev "Jive Babe" - Liked the intro. Definitely interesting, but the vocal melody is kinda boring. Has that annoying 'indie' voice thing going on too. I wish I knew how to describe what I mean by that better.
