Out of all the mafia I think Shawn was probably our best player. If not for Curtis knowing him too well, he may have taken it to the wire.

Robert like...totally fucked up everything for us. I just don't see how he could have expected us to interpret his moves any differently. He was playing his own game without thinking about the consequences, which proved to be disastrous.

So...two cops? I doubt it. I am still trying to make sense of the aftermath of last night. Shawn bussed Ari with DR, and DR received a message from a friendly neighbor townie who was hoping to confide in Ari. But Rob also seems to have been bussed, yet he claims he ended up scanning Alex (not even sure who that is :|) Could Rob have fake claimed cop and ousted Greenday to reveal himself to us? That seems very unlikely. If he is a cop, we should probably get rid of him tonight.

On the subject of Rob.

It was a bad move because it relied on too many variables. I don't think anyone was entertaining the thought that he was our secret buddy at that point. I guess he had to act quickly to avoid exactly what ended up happening. We would have probably targeted him eventually.

The point at which we should have realized he was our buddy (me especially) was when Mal flipped. That oversight was even worse than forgetting how bus drivers work, because Rob would have been a target the next day and caused some damage.

This is why I hate been scum...too much to think about, leaving it easy to forget really important shit.

I did actually have a backup plan for when the real cop showed, which was to claim that I was a junior detective and only had a limited number of scans. It probably wouldn't have worked, but I knew enough to be able to conclusively say that player X was scum and player X was town, and could have produced valid results as needed. I was also purposely guarded against ever expressly saying that I was a cop, so that I could point back and challenge everybody to read my posts and prove me wrong. I was also sending out subtle signals to the mafia the whole time, such as lynching Greenday on day one, which I also did when I was in his mafia in the Christmas game (a fact I alluded to once or twice), and mentioning how it was often a really good idea to keep outed players alive for a while longer, because it would help the mafia stay hidden. Admittedly, the only reason I even decided to go for the gambit was because the way I read the flavour text implied that if I were targeted for death, I would simply kill whoever attacked me and keep right on living, so I figured that even if I was nightkilled, it wouldn't matter, because another mafia would be added to the corpse pile and I'd look even more innocent. If that hadn't been the case, I would have done things much differently. PS... Vernon... the mafia killed themselves, TWICE. You had nothing to do with that.

And you are right, it would have been brilliant if it worked. We would have been in such a strong position.

Perhaps a more attentive Godfather might have seen what you were doing and worked it out sooner!
