Littlefinger, evil Machiavellian genius who orchestrated a bloody civil war...outwitted by children!

Varys, a guy so sneaky that his nickname is literally 'The Spider'...reduced to a fat asexual loser who hangs around uttering smarmy one liners now and again.

Honestly, I don't think they have kept true to a single character. The two aforementioned are obvious examples, along with Jamie, but really, who have they portrayed faithfully over the past several seasons? (Consider how dull Tyrion has become, when before every scene he was in was gold). They have all become skin deep, with the writers relying on one liners as a substitute for actual dialogue. As a result, nobody gives a damn what happens to any of them!

And on top of all this they've set up a boring good vs evil narrative with Cersei on one side and literally everyone else on the other. Fheh

Also, I don't think Sansa getting the better of Littlefinger is inherently a bad ending for his arc. It should have been a very satisfying moment, and I reckon that will be his fate in the books too. Him imparting all his teachings on Sansa, only to have them used against him makes sense.

But how it comes to that point is the part that counts, and the show handled it poorly

AND with all that said, this was a very entertaining episode and in general an entertaining season. I've just decided to treat the show as something entirely different to the books, sort of like a blockbuster fanfic. It helps.

I'll hold out for a more satisfying end to the series, when Dream of Spring is released, in 2070. I'm sure it will be worth the wait

lol yeah, you'd think Cersei and co would have lost their shit and suspected an ambush upon seeing a dragon swooping in.

Would have been hilarious if Dany had ruined the peace talks all for the sake of making a badass entrance.
