Right now I am reading a book about the English Civil War. It can be very boring at times.

I have the new lemony snicket book to read... I enjoyed all of a series of unfortunate events and I hope this one is just as good.

That used to be my favourite thing ever.

I think I got up to book 9 or something, and never got around to buying the next one.

Hey, just read A Line in the Sand by James Barr. A history book about why the middle east is a shit hole. Long story short:

btw, any philosophy recommendations?

I read beyond good and evil recently and understood maybe half of it (:

Good read, but probably not the best book to start with

I started reading The Expanse series recently after getting into the show

Based on the first few chapters of Leviathan Wakes, I thought it was going to be one of those rare instances in which the show is actually better than the book. But it improves. Dialog is kind of cheesy at times though. I'm about halfway through the second book, Caliban's War.

Its an easy read, which is nice, cause I've read a lot of heavy shit recently; The Gulag Archipelago Volume 1, The History of The Ottoman Empire, and The Strange Death of Europe by Douglas Murray

There was also Das Kapital, which I barely understood, and The Communist Manifesto, which came with a free dead spider, pictured below

THANKS Communism

Thinking of picking up Discworld series at some point..

I didn't know JK Rowling was still writing lol.

Anyway Christian, since you brought it up she didn't do anything wrong. She's a super progressive type, but she didn't follow the party line 100% so it was decided she had to be cancelled. Such are the times we are living in!

Enjoy the books, ignore the woke bullshit

As some of you might have guessed I'm currently reading James Cooks journal. Very interesting stuff. However I'm coming to the end now and I'm worried that it doesn't end well!

I've also been reading one of the most recent entries of The Expanse series but I've left it alone for months because it suddenly became really boring.

Did you ever try any of the discworld books?

I would recommend doing 2 or 3 at a time, then reading something else. They are written to be read in any order, so the backstory stuff that ties them together gets repetitive.

I still haven't unfortunately, but I will be getting them at some point, they're on my list. I'm a slow reader!

Finished the Gulag Archipelago...it only took about three years.

Vital reading for everyone.

Why thank you Christian.

Reading something a bit lighter next: The Expanse, aka Game of Thrones in space. Up to book 7 I think.

Haha I'm watching the series too. It's excellent and very faithful to the books. Probably one of the best adaptations of a book I've seen actually.

I'm reading Don Quixote atm. Wasn't expecting it to be so funny.
