Thought I'd get a thread started since there was a few people talking about it in the hair thread.
I had actually stopped watching a few years back, picked it up sporadically (for like a few weeks) while I was in University, and started watching it back again the past few months.
I hated the fact Edge had to retire due to injury. He is probably my all time favourite, he was just amazing.
It's come a long way from when I used to watch it religiously. It's gone to total crap/stale. Not enough star power but that is their own fault for putting all their eggs in a select few baskets so I mostly just fast forward through the show hoping something will surprise me. Especially when they have the same wrestlers fight week in and week out, or just do those stupid champ with tag team vs challenge with tag team crap nowadays.
Should be getting interesting soon though, for the Royal Rumble coming up in a few months. Oh, and what the hell have they done to Kane? Jesus.
So for people who still watch, what do you think happens at Hell in a Cell?
They've gone the "softer" route by trying to appeal to a PG audience, which is ruining it to be honest. Also, the "diva's" division is mostly a joke now. When they had Trish and Lita and all of those women, that was good. Now it's just about their stupid reality show for the most part, and outside of the A.J Lee + new contender angle where they fight for the year. Now it's Paige, before that it was Kaitlyn.
As for Kane, even when they took off his mask originally a couple of years ago, he was a beast, it's sad to see what they've done to him now.
This is Kane, not whatever the hell they have now:
ooo I was also I loyal Miz fan. What is going on with him?
the top things I hate about WWE and why I stopped watching
1. They push the same people over and over and over again.
2. The whole trying to bring the rock thing back pissed me off so much
3. John Morrison getting fired. #RIP
4. The matches/storylines got repetive and lasted way too long.
5. The good talent never got into main events. It was like they only used people who were good on the mic and never actually did anything with the good wrestlers.
I'd watch it a lot more if
1. The King of the Ring tournament came back. I loved that sooo much.
2. Royal Rumble is always one of my favorites.
3. Tag teams need to go.
idk my 2 cents it may not be relevant :P
Agree 100%
Right now it's like John Cena vs. *insert heel*, although I do like Randy Orton, just not in his current role. I want him to be the good bad guy, the guy who doesn't listen to anyone but is still a babyface. Bring back the legend killer. I hope to god he turns on "The Authority" soon, and it might happen sooner or later.
Also, I would much rather see Randy Orton vs. Brock Lesnar than John Cena vs Lesnar.
I love the Royal Rumble, especially when a guy who hasn't wrestled in a while makes a comeback/comes back from injury, etc. I remember I watched it a few years ago when Edge came back, that was simply amazing.
and tag teams suck in general nowadays. I thought they were building something a few weeks ago with Mark Henry and Big Show but they quickly abandoned that and had them feud with Rusev separately.
Also, apparently they've been grouping Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods together and from what people have said, they are great together. Why can't they put them on TV together.
Also, I guess for me it's just the lack of good tag teams. Outside of Star and Goldust, it's just meh. I'm kind of over the Uso's, and the rest are just fodder.
The Wyatts are supposed to be coming back from whatever soon, should be interesting what angle they go. They are also looking to bring up an NXT tag team soon, but that's just one team.
Also, I'm really disappointed in the way they have treated Mark Henry character wise. They could have made him an absolute beast with his world's strongest man character but he's just been used to put people over who don't even get pushed properly. I will say, at least Rusev they seem to be going the right way with.
R Truth and Ziggler vs Miz and Mizdow could have been two good tag teams, but the main beef between the two was Ziggler vs Miz, Truth and Mizdow were just add ons sadly, and I think they've quietly just phased Truth out which is a shame.
Haven't really seen Kofi lately either. He's probably never going to be the guy they push for a WWE title shot ever, but he's talented enough that they can at least give him some kind of weekly presence. I really hope that stable with him and Big E/Xavier is something they bring to TV because all those guys are just being wasted.
Mizdow/Sandow is hilarious. His matches the last few weeks when he's just copying MIz at ring side have been great. Hell, I even liked him when he had his intellectual saviour gimmick with, and then against Rhodes. Rhodes Scholar - now that was a solid tag team.
I was also disappointed that Ziggler's World Heavyweight Championship run wasn't all that memorable (I think it was last year?) , I like him a lot so to see him stuck in the middle when he could easily be involved in top level feuds next to guys like Cena/Orton sucks. I guess that's one reason I don't like the fact that they combined the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship, at least with two different belts (regardless of the fact that the WWE was always more sought after) they could have guys like Ziggler and Sheamus in the title picture. Both of them right now are in the middle, whereas they could use the Intercontinental and US title belts to push newer/lesser known talent.
Rusev with the US Championship would be funny, I think that's where they might be heading with it next anyways.
^ You would think WWE would have been smart to think for a second "gee, we just had Lesnar completely destroy Cena at Summerslam.... rematch next PPV and let's make it more even!"
Honestly, with the way they've handled Lesnar this year (completely destroying Cena @ Summerslam, beating the Undertaker at Wrestlmania) the only logical way for him to lose the belt anytime soon would be after a brutal match where he wins, only to have Rollins cash in. Otherwise they just built him up to be this beast only to have him lose clean? That wouldn't work. That, or put the title on the line in a triple threat or fatal four way. Considering they have axed Elimination Chamber (which I think is stupid) those would be the only possible ways to get the title from Lesnar's part time hands.
Ziggler beat Cesaro 2 falls to none to retain IC championship. I'm kind of glad they did that because usually it's always the predictable quick pin for both and the third pin via finisher. Also Ziggler deserves to be closer to the main event scene so this could be good for building him up again.
Team Cena vs Team Authority @ Survivor Series. Should be fun. I'm glad they are doing the traditional match-up. Hopefully they can add another set of it.
So far it looks like Cena and Ziggler (possibly Orton) vs Rollins, Kane, and idk who else.
I'd get it but it's not free this month, and it's $11.99.
Although I am tempted, because my cable provider has the WWE Network on it, so if I do get it, I can choose to watch it on TV through cable which makes it really simple.
