Back to the political note, I can't believe even USA got ahead of Brazil regarding the vaccines.
Our federal organs are making everything they can to stop state governments to get vaccines, it's unbelievable.

Brazil reached 200,000 deaths by covid (officially) yesterday.

And vaccination is still set to start at the end of the month...

FINALLY the vaccine we had a collaboration was approved (for emergencial use)! And the first person already took the first dose.

Now there will be yet another politic fight because my state's governor promoted the vaccine while the federal government disdained it... until last week when India didn't let the them import vaccines.

We have enough vaccines for 4% of the priority group, so after taking so many more weeks to start vaccination, it will take much longer to actually immunize the population (even if we ignore the anti-vax cattle).

Oh, and part of the northern region is running out of oxygen cylinders.

Also, a Brazilian variant of the virus was discovered some weeks ago on northern Brazil, which obviously already got to Rio de Janeiro (what are travel blocks?). And some schoolmates of mine went to RJ these days (so much for higher education).

Guys it's happening. Brazil's healthcare is collapsing.
Last year each state was alternating their crisis, and each region within the more populated ones was alternating their crisis, but now the whole country is sinking. My state might even start a true lockdown soon.

I'm so glad my family is extra-cautious (and had regretted voting for Bolsonaro even before the pandemic striking). My grandparents even had their 1st shot of the vaccine.

Since she works at a school she is ahead general population on the priority queue after health workers - the disclaimer is needed because after 3 months we only got slightly more than 10% of people vaccinated...

Senators here are investigating the government actions (or lack of) during the pandemics.
Ministry of Health replied Pfizer's emails regarding vaccines 10 months later.

My state's governor promised that every adult here will be vaccinated by the end of October!
My age group is scheduled to get the first dose in September.

I wonder if it's a reason to be optimistic for the whole country or if he just plans to hoard the vaccines for that.

Coronavac (Sinovac + Butantan), so the second shot is in 4 weeks!

And it works against the delta variant (at least in lab tests)!

I got my second shot yesterday!
No reactions in either of them.

Also, my city claims to have all adult population vaccinated with at least 1 dose already, which I'm sure it's exaggerated but maybe not so far.
