Can someone in the Boston area check in on im317? I'm worried for him, based on how the Celtics are handling this draft tonight. |
oh im very confused right now. maybe Danny has a secret plan? some unexpected max free agent (Durant?). or maybe there is some bad contract he plans to trade for, along with some young player(s?) and or picks? but hey we have 1 more pick left and Bol Bol is still on the board.

Durant opted out of his player option,
I suspect GS will resign him for max deal, can't see anyone else take him on for a whole season.
Praying Kawhi resigns but very unlikely. I think he goes to Clippers. |
Knicks would do it for a 4 year max, Nets too. i think Kawhi stays in Toronto on a 1+1. probably opts out after the first yeah and sighs another 1+1. then opts out again and signs a max (supermax?) when he has 10 years in the league to be in the 35% max slot.

and that'd put him in the Western Conference so win-win |
tbh Boc, whether Kawhi stays or leaves us the time for us to win was this year. The free agency that this year was is only going to make the East that much harder. Not sure we repeat with the same team. Raps would need to add another guy at least. |
i disagree. if he stays you are the favorites in the East.

hey at least you didn't give Randle a 3 year contract at over $20 mil per year. whenever you feel bad remember you could always be a Knicks fan.

We drafted two point guards (Rubio and Johnny Flynn) ahead of Stephen Curry. Our team's greatest accomplishment was pushing the Lakers to a Game 6 in the Western FInals back in 2004 (which we lost as the #1 seed).
While it is worse to be a Knicks fan today, it's been much much worse to be a Wolves fan over the past 30 years. |
i would argue its been worse for the Knicks since the late 90s. there 'playoff runs' after that were just illusions and they never had a chance of getting past the conference finals if that, plus Dolan is probably the worst owner in the NBA. and that is saying something.

Since the 1989-1990 season (when the T-Wolves started):
Playoff appearances: MIN = 9; NYK = 16
First round exits: MIN = 8; NYK = 5
Second round exits: MIN = 0; NYK = 7
Conference finals exits: MIN = 1 (2004); NYK = 2 (1993, 2000)
NBA finals exits: MIN = 0; NYK = 2 (1994, 1999)
NBA titles: MIN = 0; NYK = 0
Last playoff win: MIN = 2004; NYK = 2013
Winning seasons: MIN = 8; NYK = 14
Step out of your east-coast bias, and it's obvious, the Wolves have been a much worse team over the last 28 seasons. That said, Dolan is definitely the worst owner. |
i said since the late 90s. do that again starting with the 97-98 season. i do not deny the Knicks being very good with Ewing.

ok you can have it. but hey if you can keep Towns past that Wiggens contract you could be good again. also you took Ty Lawson in that same PG draft, you just traded him.

George is definitely not better than CP3 was at that time lol. I agree they've probably got a better team than they did back then, but that was still p much a super team so it's not like they've been HURTING for long |
maybe but Kawhi now is better the Paul then.

Boogie signing with Lakers was hilarious. Pelicans and LeBron now |
the fact that a number of teams passed on him for at or near the minimum is telling.

I have quiet optimism for the year, SGA is a nice young guard, still have Adams, Roberson, Ferguson. If Paul is ok mentoring before they ship him out at the trade deadline ... they'll be entertaining. Not necessarily competitive, but fun to watch. |
and think of all those future draft picks

The NBA announced that a player on the Utah Jazz has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19. The test result was reported shortly prior to the tip-off of Wednesday's game between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena. At that time, Wednesday's game was canceled. The affected player was not in the arena.
The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of Wednesday's schedule of games until further notice. The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.
tl:dr Gobert has Corona virus so the NBA is suspended indefinitely
