Detective Carter had buried herself in her work since the death of her son. She was determined to uncover the truth behind how Finch got his names. With Elias dead she had less work to do and more time to devote to figuring things out. Unfortunately she was looking into a dangerous secret, and someone had decided she needed to be eliminated to protect it.

She thought she was safe inside the precinct, but it was late at night and very few people were around. Still nobody would dare attack her here, not with all the cameras in place. As someone opened the door she prepared to yell at them for disrupting her, but instead she heard a soft popping sound. It was the last thing she ever heard.

Detective Carter, Town Cop has been killed.

Root was confused, not crazy, she was not crazy. Sure she heard voices in her head, well just the one, but that was really there. After all, who else could be the avatar of a god? Now it was time to meet the closest thing left to god’s father, Will.

Will Ingram had no idea what his father had sold the government before his tragic death in the ferry explosion. Nathan had sold them something for $1, which Will figured made it either something worthless or something priceless. It turns out it was something priceless, but also dangerous.

So when the man in the suit showed up and said he had been a friend of his Uncle Harold's and that he was there to protect him Will wasn't completely surprised. Something had felt off about Uncle Harold the past few years. What did surprise him was who he was there to protect him from.

Reese took Will to Shaw’s old safe house since the library was compromised. He thought they would be safe there, but still he wasn't surprised when Root was waiting for them.

“Will Ingram i presume? Your father helped your uncle create god, and she has asked me to come find you.” said Root.

“I don't know what your talking about” said Will.

“Stay back” said John as he maneuvered himself in between Root and Will.

“Finch is dead Root, can't you just leave the kid alone?” said Reese.

“I'm Sorry Dave John i'm afraid i can't do that.” “He knows too much, he has to be eliminated” Said Root.

“Can't let you do that Star Fox Root. i don't believe The Machine would want Will dead.” Said John.

“I was more than a little surprised myself, but you should know better then to question her.” Said Root.

“Think about this Root” said John.

“John, i think Samaritan has hacked my implant. I cant hold him off much longer, please stop me.” Said Root.

And with that John shot and killed Root.

Primate, Root - Serial Killer has been lynched and Town has won the game.

You are The Bodyguard. Abilities: each night you may select 1 player to protect. The first time the person you protect iis targeted for an attack you will take there place but survive. If you successfully protect someone, live or die, the person that attacks them will be roleblocked the following night. After that if you protect someone targeted for an attack you will die in there place. You may not protect the same person on consecutive nights, however you may self protect. Additionally you are a Mason with Lamps. Win Condition: You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.

I'm hammered right now so how the fuck was the mafia supposed to win if half the members we're against the mafia

they had the potential to add Jamie for a 6th member. Zersch scanned as Town until Herm's death, Herm count not be targeted by kills. plus Primate could have turned into 1 shot BP or Vanilla Town any night. also the Lyncher had to get the town mason bodyguard lynched. there were 4 vanilla townies and an unaligned survivor, plus if Angi had died by any means other then a lynch Farlig would have become unaligned.

up until they both blocked and killed Timmah in the same night and were caught by Merc it looked like they might run away with the game. that dealt them a major blow which was exacerbated by Christian being blocked the following night.

How was the hider tracked?

he only hid from kills. in hindsight i should have made that clear in his role PM, but the main reason was that until Herm died he scanned as town, so it could have actually helped him.

I really like how intertwined the hidden reveals where with so many other variable. Worked out nicely and was creative Nicely done IM.

yeah my goal was to not give out info on anyone or any roles still in the game via hidden text, so a bunch of stuff got held back for a while. there was actually less hidden text to add later then i thought since i had put the same info in both players it would affect. that way when the second half of something flipped the hidden text for that role made it unnecessary to add it to the other role.

there were some potentially fun things that didn't happen as well. Jamie joining the mafia or even more fun secretly joining the mafia as part of the Mafia Masons. TIB potentially catching the Ninja SKer by scent. Primate being turned town by meeting with Lamps. Farlig turning town or unaligned if Angi died. and Angi protecting someone from a kill also blocking the killer from doing anything the next night.

I thought it was funny that the mafia both blocked and killed me because they were worried I would doc myself, and that same night I forgot to submit any action at all! I believe the thought process was, don't try to kill you the night after you claim, as you should be watched, but to do it the next night when the watcher couldn't watch you back-to-back nights. Merc being able to watch the same person back-to-back nights screwed that up. Maddie couldn't roleblock the same person back-to-back. I couldn't roleblock the same person back-to-back. Zersch couldn't hide behind the same person back-to-back. You couldn't doctor the same person back-to-back. Yet, Merc could watch the same person. That's my only complaint with the setup. Consistency people! If Merc doesn't watch you that night, Mafia probably wins, and the game definitely ends differently, as Zersch and I would have had to prevented the mafia from winning too quickly to get Herm lynched.

in hindsight i probably should have also limited the investigative roles that way.
