this is why SKers are often forced to kill, or depending on the flavor you might say they are compelled to kill. that way you don't have to worry about the balance you worked so hard to set up being broken by a SKer choosing not to kill.

Town won bruh, and third party IS scum

If you look at Herm's investigations, they show up as:

Quote

Action: Each night you will select a player and will be told if they are "Town" or "Not Town"."

Scum = anti-town

I've bitched about this for a few games now, but third party who is *not* SK or cult does not equal anti-town. The key difference is that if you can win when town wins, then you aren't anti-town. Third party survivor is a perfect example- town gains absolutely nothing by lynching one and, if town has the advantage in game, then it is to their detriment to focus their attention on such a role when they could be targeting scum.

Cult = scum? Yep. They can't win if town wins. SK = scum? Yep- they can't win if town is still alive. But targeting the creepy girl, warlock, or the myriad alternate win conditions roles doesn't help town and sometimes hurts town.

i have been trying to get them to learn this for over a year now, its tough going.

Well if that is how we should look at TP (not saying we should or shouldn't) then Spin could have fully claimed (possibly even hiding the TP part first) and if that didn't work then vlady could have backed him up. For a large part my vote for Spin was based on the way he defended himself, SOMETHING seemed off...

I'm saying it is more a reaction to the "If TP, automatically lynch" mentality. For example, when I was Putin, if I hadn't been intentionally redirected to Ape to get converted to mafia, then I would have still been TP survivor when I claimed. I literally wasn't planning on checking Ape and getting rid of me at the time would have done nothing for town.

Granted, I also had no idea that I was a traitor- kind of like IM had no idea he could end up scum or TP Chaos Team this game.

oh i was sure i could end up changing factions, otherwise why was i looking for someone, my only worry was that if i could end up being tied to another player and dying when they did.

Would you have shown up as town or not town dude? Really. That's your argument?

*checks notes*

yep i have it in my rules list so i can share. this is why my game will be scum or not scum.

I would like to take a moment to compliment the host on role delegation in this game.

I think that scum had a lot of claim space open at the end of the game. The fact that there was an odd night vig, but not an even night vig was pretty cool. As well as the fact that mafia had a tracker and town didn't. Had mafia been active in this game, I think it would have been really hard (especially if we were depending on claims to determine our lynching instead of reads).

i stopped paying attention to everything but the flips at some point. did the mafia ever try and claim Curtis' role?
