Here's a similar argument I get that's a cop out:
"We can't do anything to stop school shootings because these people are crazy and will get guns and shoot people."
|
I was about to respond to Primate's post but this boils it down better. This is the excuse for not banning assault weapons, requiring extensive background checks, etc. People want their guns at the expense of lives and they don't care. Politicians don't want to lose their NRA blood money. Other countries have shown us what works but it comes down to selfishness in this country.

The United States is an individualistic society and that will never change. You can't be a liberal and fight for rights/freedoms in one department and completely ignore them in the other. It also is hilarious that liberals literally don't know shit about guns so them trying to come up with effective legislation is laughable. Agreed with fuck the NRA though.

Says the non-voter. Respectfully leave this discussion to adults who are serious and will vote because that's the way we're going to make change happen.

I honestly think there's a stronger chance of Trump being reelected in 2020 than for him to get impeached.
You'll need a big blue wave in 2018 or 2020. |
I unfortunately agree with you.

If the decision went the other way, would that baker be forced to make me my giant cock cake that I am going to want for my wedding?
This is a legitimate question. What would have constituted "regular line of business" when it comes to an industry that I assume is quite made-to-order? |
Voodoo Doughnut in Portland will make you a giant:

Apparently Evangelical Christian women in Texas were hardcore turning out for Beto O'Rourke because they didn't think Ted Cruz and the Republican platform were representative of Christian values. |
They're not... but rip Beto
Also I almost feel bad for Jeff Sessions after what Trump was calling him... almost....

I think Beto will throw his hat in the ring for 2020. He has soooo much money left over. |
He might still have my $25

The biggest problem with the blue wave was location tbh (:
There were a lot of democrat votes... just not in the places it really mattered.
Still, winning the house is nothing to sneeze at. At least theres 1 check and balance still in play. Senate was always a pipe dream |
It's also not very balanced that each state has two senators. Like why does Rhode Island have 2 and California also has only two. Just like the electoral college system - it's broken.

Because it is the United States of America, not the United States of California and New York. |
I'm referring to population but, thanks. :)
