I just started this series - on epi 6. I really like it. Good acting! Great English/Irish accents. Winner! I did have a slight argument with my friend at work today though. She said Tennant's hair is black. It's red, duh.

Graceland just aired. Watched the first episode last night. It was.....pretty much identical. But I remember the Broadchurch premiere being way more emotional, like one of the saddest openings to a show I've seen. This didn't hit me quite the same, but that's probably because I had essentially seen it already (:

Cart, the mother from Animal Kingdom plays Susan, the creepy dog lady. Nick Nolte plays the WALDER FREY character too

The characters were exactly the same. There was not a single new one and not a single one lost that I can think of. One funny thing, the blonde motel worker in Broadchurch was the only American, in this she's the only Brit

ANYWAY it was pretty much fine I guess. I still really don't get why Tennant would wanna play the same character. Anna Gunn was good. The biggest problem is that I'll just keep comparing it to Broadchurch. Hopefully that'll change once these next episodes begin to differ from it

Why do we need an American version of this? The best thing about it was the British accents. :P Okay, not the best but up there! I finished both seasons. SO GOOD!

Also, I noted the interrogation techniques on Broadchurch and on The Fall are so much different than in America. And then I was watching Dateline tonight which was about another kid being basically bullied and harrassed into a false confession. They had a segment with a guy from the UK explaining how their interrogation tactics are so much different than ours. They are not allowed to lie about having evidence, they have to let people have breaks, can't interrogate longer than two hours at a time, have to let them sleep, underage suspects have to have a guardian in the room, etc. Oh, and evidence needs to actually back up the confession! We really need an overhaul in this country.

(This should probably go in Making a Murderer thread instead of this one.)

How do you know it was silly if you didn't watch, though? Season 1 was the best but the other two seasons were also good.

David Tennant and Olivia Colman are both soooo good in this series.

I'm halfway through the second series. Because it's a British programme, I'm using "series" instead of season. :P

I do look forward to watching it because the actors are so great in it, but the story itself is feeling kind of soap opera-ish, it's all very dramatic. It doesn't seem to be moving as fast as the first series, but I still love it. I'm invested in the characters and their lives now.

Apparently this show was a big deal when it was airing.

I felt the exact same way. I didn't like the new plot (series 2 lol) as much at first but it gets better. ALSO I just love David and Olivia so much in it so I had to watch it all.
