the aesthetics of 4:3/B&W were a great choice here, made the whole thing feel more claustrophobic and GRIMY. The scene of Dafoe getting buried alive is the best example for sure, that was p stunning (and gross) and wouldn't have nearly been the same in full color
Standout scenes for me were the cooking discussion (poor Wake, just wanted someone to appreciate his lobster :( ), "Winslow" smashing the shit out of the seagull, and Winslow's rant near the end. FINALLY Wake's incessant farting came to a head, that shit was outta control
Also, only understood about half of what was said the whole movie tbh! |
