Just watched the first episode. I liked it! It's not AMAZING but it was definitely entertaining.
I like Spacey's character and his wife a lot so far. Zoe's really annoying. I don't really CONNECT with any of the characters so far, not sure if that changes, but there's very little emotion in the show. It's possible that's what they were going for though. As for the 4th wall breakage, I kinda like it. It gives the show a unique, interesting quality.
It didn't exactly make me want to plow through an entire season immediately, but it was good enough that I'll keep watching.
UPDATE! I'm through ep 7 now. The show still hasn't really GRABBED ME yet but it's at least kept me watching.

I'm liking Russo more and more as the series goes on. And I really like the dynamic between the Underwoods. It's really unique. It's pretty interesting how she really doesn't give a fuck if Frank's fucking Zoe, as long as they're gaining some sort of political advantage. ZOE and all of her reporter friends are still very annoying!
One of my favorite scenes so far is the whole sequence with Russo over at the Underwoods' house. Especially the scene in the bathroom where Frank hands him the razor. FRANK DON'T FUCK AROUND! And the part where Frank's sitting around all-night waiting for a call about a dead child was so dark.
My one main criticism is that all of the TV media stuff seems so unrealistic. It takes me out of the show pretty much whenever they have that. Well, that and I still don't really care too much about any of the characters. I enjoy watching some of them, but I don't really have a stake in what happens to them.
I do wonder when things are finally NOT going to go Frank's way. Every single thing he's done has worked so far, even when it seemed like things weren't going to like the teacher's strike. I'm guessing that'll happen near the end of the season
For a second I thought he'd walk in and find Peter cut his wrists or something.
Doug is a big ol' dummy for talking about Peter while he was in the same hotel room. He really couldn't walk outside to discuss his TOP SECRET PLANS?
The scenes with Peter and the hooker were so well-done. It actually HURT to see Peter take that first sip and break his sobriety. I do like Frank but tbh I'm rooting for Peter right now. But I think Frank will win out in the end.
Also it's minor but I found it kinda SILLY that Frank had to use the missing persons agency to find his wife when she was in the most OBVIOUS place ever (: That's the FIRST place he should've thought to check!
Things are definitely picking up now. The last 3 episodes should be interesting
DONE! Pretty good overall. I wouldn't rank it among the best shows or anything, but I'll definitely watch season 2

- Zoe somehow got even WORSE as the show went on. I can't fucking stand her. I loved it when Rachel told her to fuck off.
- FUCKIN DOUG, MAN! First he talks about Russo while he was in the same hotel room (although nothing came of that anyway... I originally thought the reason Russo disappeared was because he overheard Doug and wanted to expose the plan). Then he PICKS UP RACHEL in full view of the journalists who are VERY SUSPICIOUS of everything to do with him right now. So stupid. Goddamnit Doug.
- I was very :( when Peter died. I was hoping at the end they'd walk to the car and Peter would wake up and expose Frank. With Peter gone there's really no one I LIKE on the show anymore. I'm definitely rooting for the Underwoods now, but I wouldn't say I LIKE them.
- I loved the scene where Tusk was waiting in the ribs place. It wasn't a big scene or anything but I thought it was a great touch to have Tusk invading Frank's SPESHUL PLACE
I had so many emotions running through my head at once during the split-second where she was flying towards the train. A mix of relief, shock, and joy
Although if the other two reporters end up being the ones that chase Frank (looks like they will) then it's not much better. They're not as annoying but they're just BLAND
AND HOW BOUT DOUG! The way he stared that knife down like it wasn't shit, followed up with the cat-like speed to rip the knife away. Smooth as FUCK!
this HEROnymous shit is sooo bad. That talking bird...the fuck was the point of that? Why would the hacker go to the effort of animating a bird for 30 seconds of dialogue? So dumb. I lol'd at the hacker being LIAM MCPOYLE all along though
I'm interested to see where this Rachel story goes. There's gotta be a lot more to it
That was still a dick move tho (: . I like the Underwoods but they're dicks as well. Everyone in the show is a dick tbh. I'm interested to see how far Jackie goes to secure that spot
Everyone but THIS GUY!
though getting his ribs from a farmer that slow bleeds his pigs IS kinda a dick move I guess so MAYBE NOT!
OH NO! DOUG!!!!! :( Even though he was a complete dick towards Rachel, I still don't think she knows how quickly she would've been offed if she was under Frank's watch instead of Doug's. His sympathy towards her ended up getting him killed. Pretty sad!
That ending with the RING TAP was awesome. But seriously though, where does the show go from here? Really the only thing left for the Underwoods to accomplish is reelection. I'm thinking/hoping that things will start wrapping up now and maybe even S3 will be the last season. Not that I don't like the show but...it doesn't seem there's a whole lot more they can stretch out of it without it getting either boring or silly
I'm guessing that Rachel's escape is what will start to topple the 'house of cards'. I'd be happy if that's the case. Rachel, the Marine rape victim (can't remember her name), and maybe Freddy are about the only likable characters still alive on the show (I enjoy watching the Underwoods, but I wouldn't call them 'likable' at all)
Even though I liked Doug, I thought Peter's death was much sadder
I don't mind the decision at all! But I guess that's mostly because I enjoy Rachel's character. And I think it's pretty clear what it's gonna do for the show's trajectory, Rachel is now out of pocket and could stir up some serious shit. I don't see her going away too easily/cleanly ala Zoe
