wow, I feel like I watched a completely different episode (: This one didn't work for me at all. Not even close to San Junipero which is the obvious comparison
I think the main thing for me was I didn't really feel any chemistry between Frank/Amy. The way the story moved after their first date it quickly became obvious that the episode was heading towards them bucking the system and trying to stay together, but when I realized that I was really confused cuz I didn't see any connection between them after the first date. And then the next time they met they seemed madly in love, which felt really unearned. I feel like spending more screentime showing their first date would've went a long way, but it was probably more the dialogue/actors' chemistry than anything
I liked the concept overall but the execution of it fell pretty flat for me |
