about 5 hours in and I can already tell this is gonna be one of my all-time favs. I've only really scratched the surface of the story but the world has just been so ridiculously immersive. No one makes games quite like Rockstar. Even just something like going to a movie in the first 'big' town I went to was fun just because I got to take in the insane amount of detail they put in
I do wish this was on PC cuz as beautiful as the game is, I do wish I could experience it with a higher framerate/better graphics for my first time through but o well
I love how much interaction/dialogue they've built into this, even if most of the stranger interactions don't lead anywhere it still makes the world feel more ALIVE just having the chance to have those little asides. I also have liked how much the game has rolled with the punches, both with the dialogue and any actions you take. Like when I ate a fresh bowl of stew in front of our starving prisoner and he starts cursing at me for it
Agree about the whole community aspect, it'd be hard to beat RDR1's story if they went for a similar 'lone wolf' feel to Arthur's story so I'm glad they took it in a fresh direction. I'm waiting for the inevitable downfall of this group but til then I'm enjoying getting to know this band of misfits
Also agree about the realism stuff but I'm sure I'll get used to it. The one that's 'bothered' me more is that you can't just outrun Bounties anymore, even after you escape the initial chase you still have to pay it off which definitely penalizes you for fucking around a bit more. Or maybe it was like that in the first game and I'm just forgetting?
Yeah I saw a tooltip mention something about your weight being dynamic too based on how much or how little you eat. I'm curious how far you can take that and if you can end up with a morbidly obese Arthur
The facial hair thing has been acting weird, like I keep trimming everything but my mustache but yet that's stayed the same length this whole time while the rest continuously grows back. idk if that's a bug or wut. I just want Arthur to have a ridiculously oversized gunslinger mustache man!!
lol I was actually gonna say, I feel like the pedestrians in this game are more "friendly" than GTA pedestrians. Like they typically don't pick a fight with you if you just stand by them for a bit unlike in GTA. Definitely have had the gun thing happen to me a few times tho. Or like someone will be asking for a ride and I pull my horse just a BIT too close to them which causes them to either pull a gun on me or run away screaming
