good finale I thought. Although I don't think anything in the episode lived up to that opening in King's Landing. God that was so good (poor Margaery tho :( ). Might be one of my favorite sequences of the series honestly. Sapochnik runs laps around almost all the directors they've used lately
Arya thing was cool but like...I feel like there definitely could've been more build-up there. At least show her landing in Westeros and give a subtle hint about her plan or something. As it is I have no idea how she could've went from stumbling around Braavos with a gaping stomach wound to infiltrating the Twins and cooking up all of Walder's sons
Varys being on Dany's ship was so fucking weird. HOW....WHAT?? It almost seemed like a continuity error it was so jarring. It's really one of the few times the show's liberties with timelines has threw me. Like why couldn't they have just left him in Dorne or Highgarden for a while?
Lyanna Mormont continues to steal any scene she's in. I can't wait to see more of her in S7
R+L=J reveal was alright I guess. I think it'll carry much more weight when Jon finds out for himself
Also what is left of Cerci's prophecy? All of her children are dead along with her "killing" the last one.
"Aye. Queen you shall be... until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear."
Cersei was convinced the "younger and more beautiful" Queen was Margaery, but now it almost certainly will be Dany
That part of the prophecy was in the show, but there was actually one more part that they didn't include:
Spoiler
+
"And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you."
valonqar = "little brother" in Valyrian
Most people think this is gonna be another misread by Cersei, where all her life she assumes this is referring to Tyrion, but with where the story's at now it very well could be Jaime (they're twins but it was specifically mentioned she was born first)
So either they're gonna revisit that prophecy scene later, they're keeping it out so the real event comes as a surprise, or they're just cutting it out entirely. But it seems big enough that I'd be surprised if they didn't include it (whether it's part of a prophecy or not)
