well that was a pretty fascinating watch. There's so much they can do with this world, makes me glad that they made this a series. Seems to fit much better (granted I haven't actually seen the original movie though)
The scenes in the real world were a lot less interesting overall, but they did start getting better near the end in the interrogation scenes at least
Really liked the classical renditions of modern songs, especially Paint It Black
I think we could have gotten the concept for The Man in Black across without having a rape in the very first scenes of the movie, but perhaps I'm more sensitive here. He butchered the boyfriend and the family- we get it- he's a bad guy. We get to watch him scalp the card dealer later. The rape just seems overly gratuitous.

I think there might be something more to that scene; i.e. I'm not 100% convinced that he actually did rape her. iirc he kept his words just vague enough that it could be left up to interpretation
After the scalping scene, I think it's clear there's a lot going on with Man in Black's ultimate plan. So it's very possible that he did something similar with Delores - trying to find information (which I'm guessing would've involved cutting her open, but...still) rather than being a pure sadist
^ I had no idea Episode 2 was already out til you said that. Just watched it
This reminded me of Red Dead Redemption even more than the first ep did. I love that aspect though, of it essentially being an ultra-realistic sandbox videogame. I hope there's more scenes to come like the Man in Black's (just less sadistic) where we get to follow certain guests as they forge their own storylines. I'm guessing that might be the case with this new nice guy
And I like that that aspect hasn't been dropped at all, I was a bit worried after the end of the first episode that the main focus would become the hosts' uprising. That's definitely still a major subplot but there's a lot more going on than just that
Also I thought Odyssey on Red River sounded pretty good :(
Oh, they introduced guests as main cast. Good! However, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to disassociate the William character from:
I lol'd when he first appeared.
It makes sense how they did it. This episode felt like the start of the story, whereas the pilot was mainly focused on establishing the premise of the show. Very much looking forward to seeing how this progresses!
I was half expecting him to order a tall glass of milk at the saloon
Also I see that Trevor hasn't changed at all from his days in Los Santos. Kinda funny they brought that actor on the show with this clearly drawing some inspiration from GTA-style games
so many new questions brought up from this episode. All the Arnold/voice of God shit, the guy smashing his head in, Teddy's bullets doing nothing to the cultists, etc. All vry intriguing
I can't wait to see this Delores/Will story play out
Good ep! I really started to see the potential for this being a multi season series with this ep. Teddy dying certainly does seem to be a thing, and long may it continue. It was odd that he couldn't shoot the culty freaks who hacked him to death. Is the implication that they are guests, or am I misinterpreting that scene?

Yeah I'm not sure what to make of that. I'm leaning towards them not being guests, just because they seemed WAY too coordinated and less...improvisational than we've seen the other guests. Plus, it would seem odd to me that you'd arm guests with axes that can kill ANYONE (unlike the guns that can only kill hosts). Like what if they didn't know that guest woman riding with Teddy was a guest? They could've accidentally murdered a real person
And also there was that campfire scene earlier in the episode where the hosts were in a loop because only one of them had permission to use the axe but he was missing. Which sort of points to them only allowing blades to the hosts VERY selectively, which would mean Ford is going into fairly uncharted territory by arming an entire cult army with axes
But then, if these are hosts that obviously begs the question why the bullets wouldn't affect them. Which I'm not sure about, would seem kinda CHEAP for Ford to make an entire faction invincible. Maybe they were on some kind of (artificial) painkilling drugs or had armor on underneath?
Damn. I really wish I could binge the rest of the season right now

Really really like the way they're developing MIB and Will's storylines, it's exactly what I wanted to see out of the show, where we get to see characters fully forging their own storylines. As opposed to the first couple episodes where we just got small glimpses before it reset
MIB's was especially fun to watch this week. I liked the little detail with Lawrence wearing the blindfold around his neck instead of the noose after the second attempted execution. Him and MIB are turning into a fun little odd couple duo
lol'd at MIB not being surprised at all to find Teddy dying
For some reason I get kinda UPSET whenever the guests break character and start talking openly about 'robots'/'games' (: Or when they don't even pretend to try to dodge the bullets. Srsly tho you're paying $40K a day for this the least you could do is immerse yourself. Not at all inaccurate tho, it's pretty much the type of people that prefer to put on God Mode and dick around in GTA
That MIB/Ford meeting was great. I was pretty shocked when MIB actually started threatening him with a knife. Shit just got SERIOUS! I dunno how he expects to get to the maze when he knows Ford can turn the whole park on him
And apparently MIB has never even SEEN Arnold before? Adds even more mystery to him. Like Curtis said there's definitely gotta be a big revelation coming there
Will's actually starting to wear on me, he's just TOO much of a straight arrow. Maybe he'll start to get more depth now that he's turned on his brother-in-law/is running off with Delores. Was his brother-in-law SMILING at the end? Was this all part of his plan somehow to get Will to break out of his bubble?? He did seem to know exactly where this sidequest headed last week so I guess it's possible, but it might be giving him too much credit (: I was surprised how violent the hosts were getting with him, punching him in the face and shit. He seemed surprisingly okay with it!
