I think this is the first time in the whole show where I've been more interested in the Wall/far North plot than anything in King's Landing. It's just not the same without Tywin/Tyrion/etc there. The Cersei story for this season was actually one of my favorite plots in all of the books but I've been pretty underwhelmed with it so far this season. The show's reason for Margaery's arrest was kinda weird/forced |
I dunno how they're gonna reconcile that with Cersei's downfall now. There's not gonna be a Kettleblack to recant on anything, and it's not like Olyvar can take that place since Loras, y'know, actually did fuck him. Pretty disappointing that we're probably not gonna get the High Sparrow's "No" moment now. Unless Lancel is the one that confesses? I guess I could see that happening
I'm hoping we at least will still get Margaery telling off Cersei, though it's not gonna be quite the same since now Cersei only orchestrated Loras' imprisonment, not Margaery's. At least as far as we know I guess |
Jaime/Bronn vs Sand Snakes was pretty fun in a campy way. I lol'd when Uncle Jaime just comes strolling up to Myrcella out of nowhere in the Dornish outfit |
Why does Myrcella still have her ear tho! |

also they could've easily made that ending even more brutal if they would've stuck to Ramsay's wedding night from the books, but I can see why they didn't. It was bad enough since Sansa's the bride now

Agree with a lot of that Wikey. Especially RE: Cersei's plot. There's especially a glaring lack of Qyburn right now, and I feel like Taena would've been a good character as well. I do get why they have to chop things down so much since they're aiming for 7 seasons, but it's pretty unfortunate

also it's funny how they've made Ellaria the exact opposite of her book character now

Oberyn wanted vengeance for Elia. Now the three of you want vengeance for him. I have four daughters, I remind you. Your sisters. My Elia is fourteen, almost a woman. Obella is twelve, on the brink of maidenhood. They worship you, as Dorea and Loreza worship them. If you should die, must El and Obella seek vengeance for you, then Dorea and Loree for them? Is that how it goes, round and round forever? I ask again, where does it end? I saw your father die. Here is his killer. Can I take a skull to bed with me, to give me comfort in the night? Will it make me laugh, write me songs, care for me when I am old and sick? |
one of the best quotes of the books tbh. It perfectly sums up the ultimate futility of revenge. I hope they at least give this monologue to Doran in some form |
