still don't get why they'd base a show off an uninteresting character where we already know their fate tho. If they had this exact show but with a completely new cast it'd be so much better
watched the first 3 eps, ppp good. Although I feel like I like the CONCEPT of it more than the actual product. I LOVE what they've done with the aesthetic and the tone and that everything feels grimy and dire, which Star Wars really hasn't since the OT (well Rogue One did this decently as well). And more importantly, I love that (so far) it's completely unconnected from any character or planet that we know and is actually telling ITS OWN STORY with its own characters (and is actually shot on real locations, wowee!). That is 100% what I've wanted from any Star Wars movie/show since Disney started making shit
That said, even though it has all that going for it I don't feel quite as engaged as I would've liked/expected. At the end of the day it's like a p good spy thriller with a Star Wars coat of paint thrown over it to make it more interesting
I do hear this is good tho. Probably won’t watch til everything’s aired
If you do start watching the writers basically said that every 3 episode block tells its own story and Disney+ kinda arbitrarily made them cut it up into 12 eps
I'm tempted to wait and watch this 3 eps at a time, cuz I can def confirm that stopping after the first one in this batch would've been very unsatisfying
still feel the same about it, very well-made yet not all that memorable to me so far. It's probably the most impressive Disney+ SW thing so far, but I'd say I've ENJOYED Mando more
fav bit so far was the TIE Fighter scout swooping over the rebel camp, the (literal) room-shaking sound and general shock & awe was so good. I love how they make the Empire seem like an actual threat again in this, where even a single TIE is foreboding rather than just more cannon fodder for some jedi to easily dispatch
Luthen's monologue to the ISB guy in ep 10 is for sure the series highlight for me. He's the only character I'd say I REALLYYY like
ep 11

and his getaway scene in this ep was so cool. For a show with very little action they knocked that one out of the park. A million times more exciting (and visually appealing) than anything in Obi-Wan
