yeah even though I've seen a good chunk of these, I just don't care this year (which tbf has been the case for a while with the exception of the Parasite moment)

Don't Look Up is way overpraised unsurprisingly. Last Duel isn't the only snub but definitely the most surprising considering the pedigree behind it. Should've at LEAST been a nom for Jodie Comer there, but deserved a BP nom as well

this does make me wanna see Drive My Car even more despite its daunting runtime. Kinda funny how they spoil the Best Foreign Film winner whenever one bleeds over into the BP noms

that's pretty much...the complete opposite of how I'd rank those movies!

after seeing Red Rocket, that would've been my vote for BP. That or Green Knight probably

CODA and Nightmare Alley are the only noms I've seen that I'd at least give a 7/10

Just two left!!!

Drive My Car and Power of the Dog

lol you saved the two slowest for last. And imo, overrated!

I liked Dog much more of the two tho. DMC just did nothing for me

CODA was really good. Felt a bit like a Hallmark movie but it was better than most of the nominees

that's basically exactly how I'd describe it, like an elevated Hallmark movie. Like it's the type of movie that'd typically make me roll my eyes with how sentimental is, but it just has so much HEART you can't help but fall for it

as bad as the Oscar noms/winners can be I hope that teaches them a lesson to never put things to a popular vote
