Esposito is a true G, mad respect for him actually putting something worthwhile into a project as poorly conceived as this. Tbh it wasn't too unwatchable. The swordfights were entertaining, despite the usage of them (along with bows) making little sense. And a lot of the older actors are pretty good, they'll definitely be the characters that make it worth watching.
Especially because the teenagers suck more than they did in Terra Nova. Goddamn. ASTHMA DANNY looking like our primary insight into the Munroe army is going to suck. Angsty love story was the most predictable, trite thing, and I just know it's going to become prominent in their effort to appeal to HG fans.
Also you do not blow your load that quickly into a pilot. I've never seen it work out well when a serialized show decides to reveal the primary antagonist in its first 45 minutes. Also, technology actually does work why should I care
But still entertaining enough to watch a few more episodes I guess. I kind of want a new sci-fi show to watch, and I still haven't seen Last Resort.

Episode 2 also sucked. It was bad in such a weird way, totally repellent in every respect. Just absolutely not compelling. Spirikados is such an awful lead, incapable of any nuance, and the only actor who seems to really be enjoying himself now is Esposito. Also the world of the show feels ridiculously small. Everything comes down to the MUNROE MILITIA and all the characters have connections to it. It doesn't feel like any actual traveling is being done despite this essentially being a trek show.

It's just so weird that this was where all the hype was, and it had so much creative potential, both as a concept and as the brainchild of Kripke and Abrams. And it just ended up being so bad. I'm going to put a lot of the blame on NBC because I get the feeling from a lot of Supernatural that Kripke knows basic story structure, which this show seems to ignore as a general rule.
TBH I THINK CHARLIE WASN'T THERE FOR THE INITIAL DEVELOPMENT STAGES
