I haven't watched this at all but I've been told to watch it many times. Going to make it my new show after I'm done watching the 13 episodes of Suits that I have left.

It's worth it. It'll be fun to discuss the episodes in real-time as they air (just like old times but without the crazy theories).

I am more pumped than you'd believe lol. I've been lending my DVDs (being a good person who does things legally!... after torrenting them obviously) to a friend so he can get caught up and the experience of following his watching is great. Almost as good as watching for the first time (:

Very good episode! The opening scene just fucked me up, and I can't wait to see where they're going with it. I hope they don't play it like they did with season 2, and that this is the only episode beginning like that. And also, while I'd rather that be the end of the half season, it felt like it could be a PRE-FINALE moment.

I really liked that the episode was just about resolving the mess left with Face-Off. And the whole magnet thing felt very old-school Breaking Bad, but with Walt a CHANGED MAN. His absolute cockiness is great, especially because they state explicitly that it's all going to be fucked up. But his interactions with Mike were terrific the whole episode, and I'm so glad that Mike looks to be playing a bigger role.

How did you guys read Skyler's response to Ted? Was she being threatening and manipulative or just playing the part? Because she clearly knows how deep she is in this based on the ending.

I'm sure the meth production is going to keep on happening. Walt always falls back into it, and at this point he is more COCKSURE than ever.

Also Saul was cool with Jesse's girlfriend's family I thought. If he were to just give Brock the berries (as is implied by this episode), they wouldn't notice until the berries went into effect.

Huell and friend went to Ted's house so he would take the money from Skyler. They stay there for a few hours, he tries to escape, and in doing so, he slips on a rug and rams his face into a table. It's implied that he broke his neck at the least, but I (and most of the people with whom I watched) thought he was dead.

lol I don't know if I would have been able to imagine Cranston doing it back in 08 though. Not that Broderick or Cusack got anything on MY MAN BRYAN

Holy shit, Walt is creepy. I really loved how his scenes with Skylar and Jesse were shot, with Walt sort of LOOMING in the background as he comforts them. Of course, Jesse was totally right. Seeing the hold Walt has on him is really depressing. I can't really find anything sympathetic about him anymore, it's QUITE IMPRESSIVE.

And Mike, woah. I wouldn't call his dealing with the Madrigal woman a half-measure. He was too sympathetic regarding the daughter, and it will most assuredly come back to bite him in the ass, but I'm not sure if there was another solution really. He was going to be fucked either way, and at least this way he can keep Walt under his supervision.

Also I really loved the scene in Chao's house. It was really gripping and suspenseful, even though there was no way Mike was going to die.

And I agree with Paul, the opening definitely had shades of the Los Pollos chicken opening. It was a really good self-contained DARKLY COMEDIC scene.

Scarface. Bit on the nose, don't you think? (:

Other than that, it was a really great episode. The pest control thing was just so perfect and fitting (I WONDER IF WALT HAS TO DEAL WITH ANOTHER FLY) and I love the NEW DYNAMIC in play with Mike even though the ending hints heavily that it's not going to last long.

Saul actually doing shit was great, the meth lab shopping made me lol, especially EXTREME LASER TAG. And so was getting another meth montage, IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG. Speaking of, did any of you see the teddy bear during it? There was a bit where it showed chemicals, and it looked like it changed into the bear.

Walt was such an asshole this episode. HIS CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT WILL NEVER CEASE TO ASTOUND ME. The scene with him at Andrea's was horrifying. As was his talk with Jesse, where he said shit about secrets breaking bonds. And then Marie, it was all just too damn much. It was almost painful to watch at some points, there is nothing to redeem him.

Skyler's freakout and absolute inability to cope is actually really sad. There is no way she can defend herself anymore, she is fucking broken. Also, I really liked how the Scarface scene was edited, it reminded me a lot of the light gun scene with Jesse back in season 4.

How are they able to keep the quality of the show this high? (:

Haha Skinny Pete's piano mastery was amazing and ACTUALLY REALLY :(

Yeah, I think it was a message about Mike. I don't think it's necessarily about KILLING him, I think even Walt isn't stupid enough to do that. But I do think he will try to ensure he doesn't fly "too close to the sun."

I spent the whole episode just waiting for some of Walt's HUMANITY to return somehow. But he's so awful now.
