Hello everyone.
I know it's a bit early but I wanted to throw out my five picks for the January 1st-January 15th cycle.
I tried picking five movies that I felt covered a wide variety of genres in the hopes that everyone can find an interest in at least one. Also, all five should be on Netflix, so no worries there.
ANYWAY, HERE ARE MY PICKS!
13 Assassins - A group of assassins come together for a mission to kill an evil lord.
A Dark Song - A determined young woman and a damaged occultist risk their lives and souls to perform a dangerous ritual that will grant them what they want.
Graduation - A Romanian doctor takes matters into his own hands when an attack on his daughter jeopardizes her scholarship to a prestigious British university.
Half Nelson - An inner-city junior high school teacher with a drug habit forms an unlikely friendship with one of his students after she discovers his secret.
Sing Street - A boy growing up in Dublin during the 1980s escapes his strained family life by starting a band to impress the mysterious girl he likes.

13 Assassins - Directed by Takashi Miike who is known for the horror movie Audition and Ichi the Killer. If it's anything like the those two films, I would expect this to be pretty violent.
A Dark Song - Saw a trailer for this a month ago and immediately became interested. It definitely looks like a great slow burn horror film.
Graduation - Just recently heard about this one and watched the trailer. The acting seems very powerful and the story sounds heartbreaking. Also just an fyi, it's a foreign film with subtitles.
Half Nelson - Repeating what Curtis said in the last vote, this movie was one of the first to give Gosling some serious attention, earning him an Oscar nomination in 2006.
Sing Street - Nominated for Best Picture last year at the Golden Globes. Same director as Once, which is a dope movie with a dope soundtrack. This seems a little more lighthearted and funny but still just as good.

I'm excited to say that our next movie is...
Super close vote. The more I kept looking at the selections, the more I kept hoping Sing Street would win, so I'm pretty stoked.
Anyway, I'll go ahead and create the new thread with the same poll as last time. Good luck everyone.
