I played FO3 after the trailer dropped for FO4. I really enjoyed it a lot with no prior knowledge at all besides the most basic things. It wasn't perfect and I didn't get the same EXPLORE EVERY LAST THING bug like with Elder Scrolls but it was fun

I want it desperately but I have 2 papers due, a project due, and a class trip all within the first two days of release. I'll probably get it this weekend.

If it doesn't I'll go for a refund and buy again at the winter sale since I'll be able to play desktop then

So far auto-set my graphics to low. This is not promising.

Right now it's running okay but I think I'll have some issues with actual combat and fighting.

I can't decide tbh if it's worth keeping up with for now. FPS games are already kind of awkward on my laptop and this isn't exactly laggy but it doesn't seem to be FAST. I also kinda hate the dialogue wheel controls. A lot of long load times.

HOWEVER, the cinematic at the beginning ran very smooth, and things don't look terrible even on low settings. I'm sure there's a lot to gain at higher settings but I don't feel like anything is LOST at low settings.

I'm not sure when I get to hear if the game knows my name I picked yet. I stopped for a while because I took so long making the couple

I'm just a few minutes away from my two hours to refund so I didn't get to find my robot yet. I spent a very long time on my couple so the small caterpillar they call our son would look interesting.

I think I'm just going to forge ahead though. I think with some tweaks and a lower difficulty to make up for the lag, it will be worth playing. And this way that 13 hour download wasn't for nothing

Due to a hilarious misunderstanding I refund requested this then had to cancel it because when my dad told me in a cryptic text that he ordered a copy I didn't realize he decided to start gaming again for the first time since the 90s.

This incident solidified my decision to keep the game tho.

I feel a little meh about the voices too. I'm playing the wife and after all the interactions and reactions just with the world I don't see her as the type who would do the kinds of things I like having the options to do but never actually do out of guilt. Too much characterization even in the little things, but it's different I guess.

I don't remember if its the same voice actress but this feels a lot like The Long Dark with the character occasionally commenting on the world. TLD-Female-character is way less concerned about corpses though. I wanna loot the skeletons not ponder how awful it is that there is death in the world.
