ADMITTEDLY I quite liked season 1 of Heroes, but afterwords I felt like it really went dowhill, and things I liked about season1 seemed to have actually just been me putting too much faith in the plot. Parts of later seasons were alright but eventually I started awatching just to make fun of it with my one friend every week.

I did like Ando a lot.

"The characters and plots will be introduced in a digital series that will precede the TV premiere."

ugh. Guys, the online shit wasnt cute the first time. If I'm going to watch a TV show, I'm going to watch it on fucking TV (okay, on a streaming site 7 months later. I am bad at catching shows). I don't want to have to follow the online stuff ust to understand whats going on or watch the arcs resolve of the characters suddenly deemed too unimportant for the show.

I think I'll give this a try though. I don't really want to like it, but a new cast might make it worth the watch.

The problem with Heroes was it tried to have a sense of direction and building towards something greater, but ultimately it wasnt building towards anything. They tried too hard to build a mythology that seemed to be leading towards a larger climax, but the problem was that it created a universe where the mythology and the building story failed to reconcile each other.

Heroes is a story of mutant human beings slowly but surely appearing across the globe, so the mythology they wanted to build had to be global. But for the plot to work these people needed greater reasons to encounter each other and continue interacting.

A villian like Sylar and the Company worked well for that, but once those were sort of resolved (not really but they pushed the plots beyond where they could take them) there were few reasons for these people to continue interacting. They never formed relationships, just vague 'oh hey i remember you"s and the show tried to make that keep happening.

There were some amazing character relationships and minor arcs that could have been expected on but the scope was too large for these meetups to turn into much else.

Season 1 introduced us to these characters with unexpected connections, and teased us with smaller meetings, trying to build to a climactic fight and a teamup of all these characters. But then they failed at that and season two was also just a series of people bumping into each other briefly.
