I've been goofing off because there wasn't a lot to be talking about. Day 1 didn't provide a lot of clues and I tend to step back until there's something for me to say.

ANYWAY, my thoughts:

Greenday's insistence on someone claiming something is very silly! I'll admit we don't have a lot to base anything off of today, but it's day 2, and we have to work with what little we can. Calling for people to oust themselves is lazy at best and scummy at worst. But... honestly I'm inclined to think it's just lazy. The defensive reaction to getting called out on the other hand is a little (: He didn't really defend his position on why he said what he said. Instead he just tried to immediately discredit Ari for pointing it out. He never tried to back up what he was saying, he just shot Ari's credibility down and blamed any suspicion against him on metagaming, when it isn't. Waking up after the first night and harassing people to come forward is something worth looking at. The identity of the person pointing it out doesn't change whether it's shady or not.

Greenday being a latecomer makes things a little (: but I don't think it's worth ignoring.


Shadow seems to be getting a lot of suspicion but I don't really get why! Nothing he's said has seemed scummy or overly defensive to me. Reacting isn't the same as overreacting, and I don't think he did.

Town doesn't want to kill town. I understand Day 1 is a crapshoot, but offering to throw yourself on your sword for someone who isn't confirmed and is getting lynched Day 1 is ridiculous. I can somewhat understand the logic here. Chances are TLG was never going to flip scum after nearly the entire game turned on him Day 1, but that doesn't cancel out the possibility of third party, or mafia declaring a lost cause and cutting their losses. If you know you are town and you don't know someone else is, you don't try to sacrifice yourself for them. Shitty role or not, you know what you are, and you can fight for your best interests. Trying to get yourself lynched on Day 1 is just destructive and distracting.

I don't think it's scummy, but I expect better from 7 years of mafia experience!

And that's all I have to say right now, honestly. Greenday is probably the person who bothers me the most, but his late arrival makes it a bit of a stretch for him to be scum. HOWEVER, the game was probably balanced before all the late arrivals, and there was a delay between Matt realizing he signed up and formally adding him to the game. That's enough time to recalculate things and decide the game had room for one more scum. I don't think it's so unlikely that it's not worth considering.

Like I said, Greenday stands out to me the most, but I have enough reservations about him that I'm willing to give him a pass for now.

Because wanting people to oust their roles is suspicious! On Day 2 the best you're going to get from a town cop is one scan. If they have information, it's still only a single night's worth. They reveal and now they're Night 2's biggest target. With Curtis gone, the chances of a protect on that cop are very low. They die, no more cop in play.

Just because you weren't abrasive about it doesn't mean it isn't a problem. The problem is encouraging someone to oust themselves on Day 2 at all.

I think a less useful town role or a third party are more likely than town power or mafia

That's the main reason I'm hesitating. Third party is still an option though, and if it's between someone I think is suspicious but probably not mafia and a random lynch, I think it makes perfect sense to go for someone who is suspicious.

Why wouldn't third party want to know about roles?

Probably an SK somewhere but I doubt a SK would be added for similar reasoning as to why a mafia member wouldn't be. That leaves non-killing third parties who would be less phased by town roles. If someone is third party they would still have reasons to want roles ousted. Most need to maintain a balance between scum and town so the numbers work in their favor when they are the only threat left. Cult leaders would want to know who isn't mafia to recruit safely. Survivors are the only type that wouldn't have a lot of interest in ousting, but if they don't scan as town they would still have reason to want a cop to lose their head.

I'm not saying it's a solid case. I haven't cast a lynch for a reason. I just think it's silly to jump through the logical hoops of Joined late->Probably not mafia, could be third party->Third party wouldn't want to know roles->no reason to lynch and dismiss the idea entirely based on one piece of metagaming. There's no one else really standing out to me right now, so I'm focusing on this because it's the only lead I'm really seeing. I would rather base a lynch on someone's actions and be wrong than scrap the idea, lynch randomly and be wrong with no further information gained.
