Why would you do that? Because if we buy it, we assume you are town when you could just as easily be mafia or even cult/cult recruiter. Had you had to claim before cult was exposed the claim would be more believable. But once exposed, census taker becomes a very easy claim for scum. In fact, I'm pretty sure I used it once when I was scum and there was cult in the game.
