So I want to do my feudal Japan setr up at some point with FE and GHBers, since it will be more fun with more people in it. It's a game with pretty much all customized roles (so you can't just go "hey, i know what ninja does!"), many of the roles involve WIFOM decisions on night actions, there is a lot of recruiting, the possibility of surprise attacks, a mercenary ninja that is "hired" during the game, and even the "VTs" have optional night actions.

I ran it at GLB but the smaller group meant people kept failing their recruitments as they all tried to recruit the same people. :rofl: They also gave themselves away when hiring the ninja.

I have a number of roles I didn't use in the original, due to the smaller number of players, and a few other ones I may have thought up since then. This will also keep the GHBers on their toes since there will be plenty of new things they won't expect.

The issue: Hosting here wouldn't work well with the amount of masking required to get all the PFs set up. I also know that setting up an additional forum somewhere is hard to get people to remember to go there- it's tough existing in multiple forums. I've got the PFs all set up at GLB, but that would mean FEers would have to sign up over there (which can be entertaining in it self) but then I'd have to remind FEers to head over there- it leads to the "other forum" issue but only for FE folks.

Thoughts?

It does make it equally painful for everyone! lol

I know that when you set up something fun it is frustrating for inactivity (I can't imagine with all the set up you guys did for ATTWS only to have as many inactives as you did).

So I'm just looking for a happy medium to avoid inactivity issues by making it as convenient as possible. :)

It sounds fun Vlady! Just a note, there has been an off-site recruiting game (The Gangs Of New York) before and it didn't really work out. There was just too much inactivity, idk to what extent the set up was to blame for that.

Yeah, TGoNY was originally run at GLB and worked out well as a mindfuck game. I understand inactivity kills this, so that's why I'm trying to think of the best way to avoid this sort of inactivity.

The game itself isn't even a classic "scum hunt", since there is no town and everyone has individual win conditions to a certain extent, conditions that may change throughout the game. So it makes things a bit different (and, as noted above, many of the night actions lead to a WIFOM type situation- for example, the "recruiters" can recruit in a night, but if they do, they can't be protected that night either).

He wouldn't get ninja again, unless it was random.

If work calms down a little, I can put the finishing touches on Kyoto Song II, then figure out where to host it.

LOL- I thought I got lynched a long time ago in Spooky IV, only to find that I only recently got lynched. I could have kept going.

I was Original Recipe Starbuck, could have drained some to meet my win condition, but thought I was lynched so didn't come back. I checked in and discovered I wasn't lynched for days and days after.

hell no- I was on vacation when you got lynched and the Tree Guy found you as bad, IIRC. Then our other guy took over as "lead bad guy", but he got found out by the tree guy. I was able to convince everyone I was good for a short time because I got lost in the billiards room and lead everyone to a safe room. But the tree guy got me too.

Don't feel bad, I met my win condition and I still have to wrestle the turkey I recruited in a Hell in a Cell match to win. Even though we're the same alignment. Wednesday February 15th, 2017 it's all going to pop off.
