Well, this episode was so great, but that ending blows!

Thoughts!

1. Love family visits because it usually takes even the most unlikable and makes them appear more human. I didn't care for Chrissy's though, but Devon's got me.

2. That challenge sucked. The fact it was down to Ben or Chrissy and how easy it would be for production to meddle in that challenge makes me feel it was a bit rigged, but oh well.

3. They spent a lot of time on that family challenge, I'm surprised that we got as much packed into one episode as we did. Though, I wish I would have heard more from a few people on their thoughts.

4. Devon has some GREAT moments, but that challenge dropping for a shoulder rub was not one of them

5. I think Ben going here regardless would have been a smart move for Ashley/Devon/Lauren if they kept it quiet. It should have been simple. Then next round, Lauren has her double vote that takes her to the end.

6. Mike really doesn't play this game well. Why Lauren gave him that idol is beyond me, but it would have been hilarious if she gave him a fake shell just to see if she could trust him and, based on what he did with it, she could have either played the idol or held it. Definitely a dum-dum move. million dollar move, even.

7. Mike throwing the idol in the fire was out of nowhere, but I really don't think it was a good move, especially if he was planning to then keep Lauren around. Why would she ever trust him again? Stupid move that appeared more for TV time.

8. Chrissy: "Be brave, Mike. Vote Lauren."
Also Chrissy: *votes Ben*

Super short sighted move. I agree that this was a bad move even if he didn't have an idol and would have went home, but now they pretty much betrayed Ben. At least D/A/L had a reason to vote Ben since he turned on them first.

9. Ryan and Chrissy cannot play on the bottom. They don't know how. They have no tact.

10. Ben is an idiot all around. He has less social grace than Joe in my opinion, and that's saying something. But good on him for keeping his idol quiet. Saved him some time. But it looks bad for him unless him and Chrissy can come to some sort of an agreement.

Last few things:

Lauren completely surprised me this season. Her personality wasn't captivating by any means, but she was charming and her gameplay surprised me and she grew into probably top quarter of this season's players. Would love to see her back. Could have won the whole thing.

I become incresingly happy as I see Ryan fade to just a one liner character with no important content.

At this rate, I can't see anyone but Ben, Devon, or potentially Mike winning. If Mike were to somehow win this whole thing, I think it would be safe to say he rates higher than Adam for being a stumbling ding dong that somehow gets to the end and wins amidst all the sloppy gameplay

Charming is a good way to describe Lauren. I'm still hoping the Ben winner edit is a red herring.

Same. Honestly, I'd prefer Chrissy over Ben I think. But Ryan is last. Dead last.

I'd approve of the move from Mike if he didn't then vote with Lauren to take out Ben. Now the move makes no sense except for airtime. If Lauren stuck around after that, he would be her next target for sure!

But giving that idol half to Mike was a million dollar mistake. She had it in the bag.

Also, when have they ever talked about the casting process on the show? They keep making these desperate plugs in the show this season and it's clear they are not finding a good cast

lol I can sorta see why they wouldn’t wanna do anything too physical anymore with all the out of shape parents BUT they should at least do the one from Pearl Islands with the plank walking and trivia, that was fun. Probably the best one?

But this is like saying on Survivor they should make sure the challenges are fair for everyone. Be strategic in who you pick as your loved one, I guess? Or have them be prepared to not get demolished.

They had the one in many seasons where the Survivors do the running to the water and then toss the water to their loved one. Some people sucked at it (Abi's mom), but this was entertaining enough and pretty balanced for everyone in my opinion
