I have anxiety and depression.

i'm also a self-diagnosed bitch but i'm not an expert on the subject

I was diagnosed with this on Friday, actually. It's been a tough year. My doctor just thinks it's temporary though, thank god.

Otherwise I just have acid reflux and I suffer from migraines. Sometimes I feel like an invalid tbh.

I get migraines now and then, which is only really a problem if I don't have quick access to some Excedrin. Used to get them a lot more frequently/worse as a kid tho

Same! I got them almost weekly starting from about age 9 through sophomore year of college. They stopped until this year and now I get one every couple of months. I've learned how to knock them out early though, since fortunately I get the weird vision thing.

I remember once when I was little I went completely blind from one. It was terrifying.

Do any of you ever wonder if you're on the spectrum but it was just "boys will be boys" when you were growing up? I'm always paranoid about that.

Go get diagnosed and get dat disability check sis

I don't know how to get diagnosed. I act completely different in an office setting with a professional than I do in private at home. Like I can pretend to be a normal mild mannered person quite easily. Without meaning to.

Im at least hyper aware of every weird thing I do.

I'm obviously not a shrink and don't consider myself an expert on this, but I have worked with young adults with Asperger's and NLD for the past six years as a peer counselor.

Usually people see a shrink to get diagnosed. One year at the camp I work for (also worked at a year-round living skills group home) we had a guy attend our camp who was 23 and had only found out he had Asperger's a week before camp. He said it left him obsessively questioning all of his past relationships and reevaluating everything.

My boss always says everybody is a little aspy though :p

Anti-depressants are prescribed for irritable bowel syndrome pretty often.

Oh oops I didn't read page 7. That looks really out of place now.

Anti-depressants are prescribed for irritable bowel syndrome pretty often.

yeah thats why I was given it. And then it went horribly awry because I don't handle antidepressants well! Ask Bryce about the time I got him a win in baby deja survivor for details.

And then it turned out it was actually my gallbladder anyway

But saying "take this for a problem you (may) have" is very different from "everyone should be on anti-depressants!"

Yeah I definitely agree. I still don't know what the link between anti-depressants and IBS actually is...doesn't IBS also have something to do with the psyche?

Tbh I was worried I might have for a while and so was my gastroenterologist but he never proposed anti-depressants.

It's honestly insane how stress physically manifests itself in the human body.

Yeah some doctors don't even believe IBS is a legit thing.

I leave the room to talk on the phone just because it's common courtesy? Unless it's a big office/cubicle situation.
