The government isn't going to stop mass shootings. It requires willful ignorance and irresponsibility to think they could, let alone see that as a valid preventative.
This shit won't stop until we all take collective responsibility and start behaving differently. Not as a governed collective, but on a personal, individual level.
There are two main reasons for the school shootings, the news covering the shooter like some kind of a murdering martyr, and bullying.
The news has to choose between less kids dying and profits, corporate America chooses profits.
IMO it could be considered incitement to violence so the government can do something about it, or make new laws.
I'm pretty sure the government can do something about bullying in public schools, like teacher training, more counseling, whatever.
Another factor could be the us vs them narrative politicians keep pushing, it makes people think that other Americans are an 'enemy' and you tend to want to kill your enemies.
And of course there's the mental health and how easy it is to get guns.
Yeah, they totally can't to anything to stop mass shootings.
Pretty disgusting, the fucked up part this is another wedge issue that will divide and that conservatives will definitely favor. Always see people shit on drug users on my Facebook feed.
So will big pharma execs and peddling doctors get the death penalty too?
I don't agree with most of his decisions, and think he's generally despicable, but he is the first politician I can ever remember at the national level who made promises, and spent his presidency actually making them happen.
Say what you will, he is fucking doing it. I hope libs start taking notes on how to get shit done and making plans to do so instead of spending all of their time and efforts trying to demonize the guy. I might even vote for the lefty version of this guy. I would definitely vote for a centrist version.
Wait, I'm still trying to figure out what he has actually accomplished? The wall isn't being funded by Mexico. ACA is still the law of the land.
If you mean "Electing me will make people upset" then yes, he has totally kept that promise.
And tracking on promises disagrees with you- check this for Obama versus Trump:
Obama kept almost half his promises and compromised on about a 1/3.
Not to mention Trump's big complaints about Obama golfing all the time has been more than supplanted by Trump's golfing all the time (and having us pay his Trump courses for it).
Obama did push for most of his promises, but folded or compromised on those that helped workers, health care, etc... Basically everything that would get in the pockets of he and his cronies was shitcanned or turned into some untenable watered down shit show. I
Eg: The healthcare abortion he shoved down the throat of the country.
Republicans had the house 6/8 years Obama served, of course he had to compromise or fold on those that helped workers, health care, etc...
